Nashville. I wish I could get down there more bc it’s so much fun to play. The topsoil on the plateau isn’t ideal for maintaining a course but they did about as good a job on the renovation as they could do. And it’s hard to put a price on the view...
I’m about to book a midweek midday tee time using golf now. Any chance I can get a better deal just calling the pro shop?
Yes. No. Maybe? I'm not sure but no matter what you do.....don't listen to Jigga when he inevitably replies. He'll lie.
I mean just think of how simple and easy booking a time on GolfNow is. You won’t find a better rate and you save the stress of calling in, being put on hold, then bickering back and forth trying to find the right time and rate. Do it simply from your phone and then enjoy golf. Go Play!
Golfnow constantly has a course in my area listed for about $20 more than what I can call in and get it for.
It kind of feel like Spieth would've gone into the final round in striking distance of the lead if he wouldn't have imploded on those last two holes and missed the cut. He would've been on the course the same time as Berger/Finau.
Bc Jordan and I are soulmates, I'm starting to believe he has a similar problem I do. I don't think he sees short putts very well, so his brain isn't sending the right trigger signal to his body. When he gets behind longer putts, the green is giving him more information and he relaxes more and has more confidence. Just a theory. I've started staring at the hole and it has helped significantly. Seems that it has consistently knocked off 2-5 putts a round for me. (I still 3 putt but probably 20% less or so). My brain goes into a kind of fog when I am set up over the ball and my eyes are off my line. Its like my brain no longer has the information my eyes gave it a second ago. At that point Im pretty much just whacking it hoping it goes in, which of course makes you tentative, and results in a shitty stroke with bad tempo. We know that Spieth used to stare at the hole on several shorter putts, but even when he did it he didn't do it 100% of the time. I'm guessing he was going back and forth trying to really find a comfort zone bc his short putting has never been that good. Now he is full on mind fucked and its pretty obvious he doesn't have a solution. I really wonder if its due to practicing much less and no longer being in tune with his eyes, body, and arms like he used to be. He's such a feel putter that I don't think he can really take too long of a break from having that stuff synced up, and now he's rich af and getting married. He may have to get the grind back in order to let the solution find him.
Smylie practices at my club here and there since Vestavia had been shut down for a long time. A few weeks ago he played 9 with a couple high schoolers (props to him, he is a really nice and respectful guy) and he shot like 45.
Heading down to visit my parents in Jupiter this weekend. Apparently my uncle just joined Riverbend in tequesta and we're gonna play there this sunday. Driven past it 100 times and never thought about that place. Looks like it's in really good shape and a fazio course, but its a par 64
I’m free and just got new clubs. Just saying. Ask Ty Webb how fun I can be when I have no idea how far any shot is gonna go Ask 1 too but he’s untaggable so it may take a while
Planned a nice golf weekend of Secession, Bray's Island and Chechessee Unfortunately the earliest we could make it work is February 2019
Can we wait til it’s cold up here? We should do match play as well. Figure I can have you dormie by hole 12. Gives us time for a beer after the match.
Jigga im right down the road and as bad if not worse than you and always down to play just fyi hint hint
I haven't talked to him in a while, not like we are buds or anything. But he has a 2 way miss and isn't hitting it solid. Not sure who he is getting instruction from but he needs to get back to basics or he is off the tour.
He has no confidence and would not be able to find the fairway if his life depended on it. He switched coaches, but its a mental thing at this point. Probably hard when everyone in the golf world is following you as you struggle. But, he has always been somewhat inconsistent - just not to this level.
Ty Webb just caught me on a bad day. I hadn’t played in 3 months and their elevation is all messed up. I need to play with someone down here to get my rep back
Smylie needs spend a week in Archie’s dojo/swing lab (Trey Mullinax’s swing coach) man is a Jedi and his set up is incredible. What’s the best way to post a swing video?
