Not quite the final tally. Marion from Superstition got drank but not finished. A little disappointed we didn't get through more, but that's what happens when you spend half the day drinking on the lake before you get into the bottle share.
Been a while since I’ve posted here. This is tasty. If anyone is randomly in Conroe TX, B-52 is a good one to visit
Unfortunately I don't have a good picture of it. My friends family farm house, has a bunch of kitchy (sp?) country decorations. You can see it better here but he got his head cut off for the untappd pic. **none of these people are me Spoiler
One brewery I was at earlier today we had to inform the staff some guy was jacking off under the table and he should be asked to leave. Good times
We roll through Amarillo on the way to Angel Fire & stay at the Embassy Suites. What’s your location distance from there?
Any other recs? Don’t have a car and staying at Emory with a little one. May uber it with the car seat if something else decent is closeby.
I don't really love any Atl breweries, honestly. Three Taverns is my favorite of the bunch. Monday Night has started to make some decent stuff at their "Garage" location. Otherwise, it's a bunch of meh imo. Lots of people seem to like Scofflaw, but outside of one or two decent beers, it doesn't do much for me.
About equal distance from The Porter and the Decatur breweries. Can’t go wrong either way imo. Not terribly far from Orpheus either, which is worth a visit. One place within walking distance from Emory is one of my old favorites, Slice and Pint. It’s a brewpub/pizza joint that has some underrated beers.
The Porter seems interesting. I walked to Emory village today and looked up slice and pint - unfortunately it is closed permanently.
I want to hate this post, but you’re right for the most part. While Atlanta has come up in the last decade from a beer perspective, most of the beer is average at best. Orpheus still makes good stuff, but it is getting increasingly more difficult to get; Three Taverns makes great big stouts but then charges like $2 per oz for limited release bottles; Scofflaw makes a bunch of good IPAs that basically all taste the same; Monday Night is trying at least. This is all imo of course. I will fight you if you say anything bad about POGX2 though.
Torched hop was pretty decent when I went. Cherry Street looks to be putting out some good stuff, only had Stepping Razor and it was pretty good. But it's further out. The Variant I've had has been mostly good, but not excellent. I've enjoyed the Sweetwater woodlands project stuff I've had as well.
Tried a few scofflaw beers - wasn't that impressed. Orpheus transmigration of souls was pretty decent.
You'll be happy to know Scofflaw doesn't give a fuck if you like their beer, because they're rebels and edgy and maybe spent some time in prison.
Cherry street has some good stuff. Went there about 6 months ago and enjoyed the beers I had. Best thing at variant was the cherry limeade sour.
Fresh Steppin’ Razor is probably my favorite Atlanta area beer this year (tied with the quad dry hopped ToS).
I forgot to rant against the stupid policy of no sampling in Atlanta. What the fuck? The bartender was like I can sample and let you know what it tastes like. SMH
