LBs have been impressive as well. Fucking Sails still getting run, at least he's been a little less flamboyant.
all of our throws downfield are basically just pray and hope Anthony brings it down jobs yay on the board
Jesus, Heck holds the shit out of his man to give Nathan time and he can't even hit a simple check down
I'm honestly not convinced we dump Larry unless this team tops out at 3 wins, and I'd still be surprised if they don't bumblefuck their way to 4 or 5
Elliott might have the weakest arm I've ever seen for a D1 QB. Every ball he throws floats and flutters.
defense more than held their end of the bargain, I'd be over the moon about their performance if the offense didn't take 3 quarters to find any rhythm
Left at halftime to go bongshopping on Telegraph Ave. with my kids, listened to the rest on 880 southbound to Santa Cruz. I think both fanbases will be talking about how their respective teams suck. I was happy with the 4 INTs, since the way UNC came roaring back in the 4th, Cal wouldn't have won without them. Not sure if Goode's injury was the difference (I hope not, since that would mean that we have no depth) or if the Cal D just ran out of gas or the coaches started playing scared/safe with the lead. I'll take the wiin, but the Bears have a lot of work to do before conference play. So do you, it seems.
hello fellow sadfootballbros hope we all get new coaches in our Christmas stockings this holiday season
the fire fedora thread on ic is refreshing. at least everyone over there except jp is finally waking up. took way too long but they finally figured it out
Well, yeah, but for whatever reason he didn't get past #3 in the depth chart over the summer, despite being in the program for over a year. Bowers doesn't seem to be any better than the inconsistent QB he was last year, and Garbers isn't doing anything to make the coaches give the nod to him, either. If they keep doing this 3QB rotation and McIlwain separates himself from the other two and gets the job by the time conference play begins, then I'll be thrilled. He seems to have the legs to do things on the ground that the other two don't, which, given the porousness of the OL, might necessarily be the way to go this year. I need to watch my recording of the game. Saw the first half from the north end zone, and listened to the second half on Cal radio with one of the most frustratingly uninformative play-by-play announcers you'll ever hear.
There's always some silver lining to make us think we did better than our outcome Can't wait to win 5 games and repeat this cycle
I did chuckle at your qb rotation though Aptos, and I even vaguely remember almost making a post about how Fedora-esque it was to bring Garbers? in on your 3rd series with the short field
To expound on this: USC (South Carolina) '15 UGA '16 Cal '17 Cal '18 Four opening game silver linings
Mcilwain has speed yes but he has no idea how to run with the football at all. He also sucks at throwing the football. Problematic for a QB. I don't know how he is now but when he was at South Carolina he partied all the time and skipped workouts and shit like that.
the fuck is a boogie ellis as the fog of yesterday lifts I'm becoming more and more excited about the delusional ride we'll hopefully embark on that is the coaching search, I feel like a kid in a candy store
He won't be able to get away with that at Cal under Wilcox. Just finished watching the recording. Main thing I came away with was that the Fox announcers suck donkey balls. If not for turnovers and penalties, UNC would have won a pretty sloppy game
I assumed you all would be better because last year you had so many injuries. You are 1-0 ATS. Progress isn't always a straight line, you'll be fine.
