This team is incredibly baffling. Instead of developing your SS of the future and getting some valuable playing time down the stretch, they elect to sit him every 4th game and let Escobar play SS. Even when they do play him, they stick him in the 9 hole. Why not let him hit near the top and get more at-bats?
With this most recent winning streak we've pretty much pissed away the chance at picking 1.1 next year.
Would you expect anything different? Whatever the number of can’t miss prospects there are next year I’m sure we’ll win enough to pick 1 spot after them.
O’Hearn has some crazy pop. Obviously you can’t extrapolate a whole season off less than 30 games but he’s on damn near 60 home run pace. The thing I like is he doesn’t hit any cheap ones, he crushes them.
esky bunted right to the pitcher and he threw to third but it looked like he had a stroke when he threw it
With 19 games left, we trail the Orioles by 7 games for 2019 pick 1.1 and lead the White Sox by 7.5 games for the 2nd pick. So, looks like we're fairly locked in for that 2nd pick. Any stud athletes at Gardner-Edg this year?
RMJ (S) 6 Whit (R) 4 O’Hearns (L) 3 Salvy (R) 2 Soler (R) DH Gordo (L) 7 Bonafacio (R) 9 Dozier (R) 5 Phillips (L) 8
He’s on a 6+ WAR pace for the year I heard. That would put him as a top 5-10 player in the league. Between that. O’Hearns insane power. Hunter finally clicking. Gordo returning to 4 years ago form. I’m at least excited for next year.
Cheslor is terrible. O'Hearn has been great but it isn't sustainable. Dozier is trash. But Mondi is da real deal.
Couldn't agree more with all of these takes. Mondesi in particular is far surpassing any expectations I had for him. He unlocked some pop this year. 20 HR, 40 SB next year isn't too lofty of a goal, it seems pretty reasonable. His OBP looks like it'll be shit but I don't care that much since he's playing elite defense and swiping bags at will. Baseball Reference has him at 3.2 WAR in 72 games. Yelich and Javy Baez are the MVP front-runners in the NL with WAR's of 7.0 and 6.3.
Esky has 9.3 WAR as a Royal according to BR. Of course, that's in 8 seasons, and 6.1 of that WAR (65%) was in '11 and '12 where it helped the Royals average 75 wins. He's made over $25 mil in his career.
Nope. Dayton will sign Logan Morrison in the offseason (2yr/15M) and give him extra incentives for certain PA milestones. O'Hearn will be a pretty neat bat off the bench though!
Whitley da gawd . Kind of sucks he did this in a season that the entire city checked out of over 3 months ago.
I went to every home playoff game EXCEPT those 2 because I figured it’d come back to KC and had tix for the potential game 6 and 7
