May not work on moblie, I'm not sure. Not a real sophisticated looking media player. Working on my desktop though so link is still good.
Turnpike absolutely killed it at Red Rocks the other night. Sold the place out. Can't believe how big they have gotten, I remember seeing them at grizzly rose in front of 100 people like 5 years ago. Randy Rogers was really good too.
He flubbed a line in the first song and I was expecting the worst but I think he was just nervous because he was on point the rest of the show
Not sure how I missed this thread. Friday night was spent at a newer small venue in OKC where a 3-man acoustic set was played by Cody Canada, Jason Boland and Mike McClure. Was an awesome evening of pure nostalgia
Show was awesome, played for about an hour and a half. Right before they played "Merry Christmas from the Family", he goes "We don't normally play this during the summer...actually its always on the shelf from Easter to Labor Day. But seeing as it's a Monday night, we figured we'd play it for ya'll if you don't tell no one."
Reckless Kelly put on one of the best shows I've ever seen. Their mix of the old, new, and covers was fantastic. Their opener, the Cole Trains, delivered. They had a damn good cover of Everlong and their originals I started listening to when I found out they were opening were awesome.
Turnpike has cancelled a months worth of shows and posted this on social media: First and foremost, you are the reason we get to do what we do every single day, and we want you to know how much that means to us. There have been many discussions on what to say publicly, and it is our unanimous opinion that our fans and our family, and there is not need to sugarcoat anything. Living this life on the road has so many ups, but, like in all life situations, there are also battles and struggles with which you learn to deal. The one core thing our band has always had is a tight family unit. The love we share with our entire team: our band members, road crew, business team and fan base feels very much like family. When one of us is down, we are all there to lift them up and help them down the road. Right now, we have a situation that needs our complete attention. For the time being, we need to put our tour on hold through November 29th, and make sure our family member is able to address something much more important than our ability to perform live. We do NOT take this incredible blessing of playing our music for our fans all over the world for granted. As much as we would all love to keep touring, we love our family member more and need to be there to make sure he is able to conquer the issues with which he is struggling. He has our support 100% and we will be here to walk beside him and carry him if needed, no matter the outcome. We love all of you from the bottom of our heart and hope to get back to doing what we all love, which is making and performing our music for you – Our extended family – as soon as possible. As good friends always say, “family first,” and we have to be there to make sure that this family is taken care of before getting back to business. Thank you for understanding, and we are so thankful for the support you have shown us and continue to show us while we take some time to heal.
They did that last month too. Wouldn't surprise me to see the band break up cause Felker cant get and keep his shit straight
I wish they’d be honest about it. Hey our singer is fucked up, hard to replace that part of the band. If it was a drummer or guitar player we could do that easily.
Weird update on all the Turnpike drama...Evan is listed as one of the guys playing at the annual New Year's Day Hangover Ball in Tulsa. Be interesting to see when Turnpike starts playing again if that's his first appearance since the cancellations
Bri Bagwell sounds like what female country singers sounded like 20 years ago. Been awhile since I looked around the Texas charts.
Came to post about Bingham. What do y'all think about "Wolves?" I like the guitar work a lot, but kind of think the lyrics and meter are clumsy. He played three new songs when SC and I saw him in the Spring. One was "Hot House," which I thought was interesting. Another was "Lover Girl," which I thought was generally pretty bad, but I'll withhold final judgment until I hear a studio version. The third one was "Cocaine Charlie," which I thought was the best one and it looks like he left it off the album. There's a YouTube video of it. Ryan Bingham – American Love Song track list: “Jingle and Go” “Nothin’ Holds Me Down” “Pontiac” “Lover Girl” “Beautiful and Kind” “Situation Station” “Got Damn Blues” “Time for My Mind” “What Would I’ve Become” “Wolves” “Blue” “Hot House” “Stones” “America” “Blues Lady”
Honestly after roadhouse sun his songwriting has been pretty bad for the most part. I just looked up the be my lover song and had to turn it off after 20 seconds
Yeah, that's been my big hitch with him, as well. I've posted it here before. Mescalito is one of the Top 5 most important albums ever, for me. It's been a gradual decline ever since for Bingham, IMO. Which sucks because I saw him do a solo acoustic show back in the Spring and it was awesome. Just feel I'm really pessimistic about everything he's done since about the moment he released "The Weary Kind."
