Terrible day for the league, just awful. I expect USF to lose to the worst team in the country tonight now.
Half? It’s much more than half. That’s the most ridiculous part of it because it actually affects a large portion of the P5 too, not just the G5, so you’d think there would be a lot more outrage then there is. The reality of it is there is only like 10 teams that have a chance at the start of the season to play for a championship and those 10 are based on the opinions of a bunch of sports writers who probably never played a down of football in their life.
I disagree. The teams you're talking about aren't likely to win their confrence but if they did they would play in the CFP. They have a path, win all their games. We don't. They thought that the G5 teams would be content with playing in the peach or fiesta bowl. That was our championship, but Danny White fucked everything up for them.
That’s not true, a lot of the P5 has the same path as us; they can win out but still have to have the right name. Unless you are named Oklahoma or Texas in the Big12, Washington or Stanford (or USC because of LA) in the Pac12, or Clemson in the ACC, if you go undefeated this year you probably still miss out over a 1 loss B1G or SEC team. The real difference is that next year, that P5 team gets to be one of those 10 teams ordained at the beginning whereas we have to do that for multiple years before we get a shot.
Colorado had a 2% chance last week of going to the CFP if they had finished undefeated. Then they lost anyway so it’s a moot point in the end. That’s the same for most of the BigXII, ACC, and Pac12. Unless it’s the right undefeated team, the media will just talk about how down that conference is for the season and how the B1G or SEC team may have lost but it was a quality loss in such a strong conference
Just make it 16 already; 10 conference champs, and 6 at large. Then everyone has a clear path by winning their conference and the media/P5 still have the opportunity to hand pick who they want in. It’s the best of both worlds
Tonight’s gameday drink of choice is the margarita. Having a little gameday fiesta. Already feeling pretty good with 51 min till kickoff
We’ll never know now but if that had happened, I still think the media would just talk about how overrated Washington was (which they were), how overrated Stanford was (which they were), and how much weaker the PAC12 is as a P5 conference. Then it’s not hard to talk up LSU as a one loss SEC west team or the loser of Ohio State/Michigan and the you got yourself the sought after “quality loss” to get into the olayoff
That's the fastest 3 and out I have ever seen. We had the ball for like 40 seconds of real life time.
Dinged up. Coaches trying to get cute by getting him another week of rest before the bye. Seems to be backfiring.
More vodka less cider in the current round of drinks. I will increase this ratio based on my frustrations. Forgive me.
Mack is the worst UCF QB to take a snap since Pete DiNovo in 2011. Hes not able to lead the attacking national champions.
Look at it this way, we think so little of ECU that huepel was like “lol, Mack why don’t you play tonight” for funsies. That’s embarassing
Just keep Jones in. Mack has the accuracy of a fucking storm trooper. He’s only beneficial on option plays.
