I re-watched the movie last night to prepare to listen on my commute home. I forgot how awesome bad this movie is. Cage's southern accent is putrid.
Doing a podcast called Villains and then saying the Joker from TDK isn't one of your episodes might be the biggest travesty in Podcast history. Otherwise, I'm really enjoying it.
Russilo is totally like the posters here that say they hate politics but then like every conservative leaning post in the thread
this is a hall of fame post i like russillo as a podcaster and a radio guy and a sports host but that's exactly what he is and him constantly decrying the blending of sports and politics is really just him voicing his discomfort with his beliefs vis-a-vis most athletes and media personalities
what did he do on his latest podcast? I hadn't listened. And yes, I've always gotten that vibe and just kind of want him to shut the fuck up and move on
I usually like the Klosterman pods but that felt like one of the least memorable episodes he's ever been a part of
RIP Simmons and Joe House friendship Cause of death: House suggesting on air the celtics would trade Tatum for Kawhi Leonard or Kevin Durant
I often think House doesn’t know that much about what’s he’s talking about. His opinions seldom seem very strong, and he placates to Simmons often. Only listened to a few min of the drunk episode though.
When sports personalities try to wade into topics with actual depth and complexity with the same confidence with which they talk about sports, it reminds me how simple and easy it is to know and talk about sports
Catching up on podcasts this morning. Bill’s dad throwing fire takes left and right. I feel like he doesn’t remember the Patriots have been to 8 Super Bowls over the last 15 or so years. They just don’t know how to draft. Belichick got exposed as some sort of defensive guru in the Super Bowl last year. It’s depressing going from the Patriots to the Celtics. Holy shit this is incredible listening
The new pod today, whichever guy appeared by phone and suggesting that the only 'fix' for the oscars host situation was to offer it to Beyonce, and then J-Law, was hopefully joking. Obviously he was joking after that when he said the third option was giving it to Dan Fouts. But the first two seemed serious
Dave Chang has been pumping out good stuff, still find myself really liking Simmons on industry/Hollywood/pop culture stuff recently. Also the Con-Air rewatchables was great. Between that and Ringer NBA show, and JJ Redick, they have helped some long drives recently.
Funny to hear Simmons frustrated about so many Aaron Hernandez takes being out there. This is the same guy that still brings up the Harden trade in every other podcast. If Hernandez had played for any other team - especially a rival like Pittsburgh or Indy - he’d talking about it constantly.
Don't even understand him still bringing up the Harden trade. Everyone else has figured out by now that we won it.
Oh the fun trade hypothetical of Simmons for Davis right now. I’m never quite sure I can believe anything BS says about Eastern Conference competition.
At what point is Simmons going to realize that Jaylen Brown is not going to be Paul George? Or even close to it. Every time i hear him say “Staisticaly speaking, Brown is on the same trajectory as George was after year 2” I about have a stroke. Not every wing that averages 13 ppg in year 2 is going to progress like Paul George did.
He knows he’s having a down year based on the comment wishing Browns shots would all be allocated to kyrie. NBA pod is pretty good. Do you guys think the 6ers should trade Ben Simmons? Ringer loves running this hypothetical.
He’s dead on about the Tatum stuff though. Simmons has him as some top 3 trade chip in all of basketball which is totally absurd.
Yeah and then he got real defensive when KOC suggested maybe it wasn’t a down year and maybe last year was the aberration, not this year. Bill does about have me convinced the 6ers should trade Simmons if they can get a good return. I don’t know that he’s a great fit with Embiid.
probably not the place for this discussion, but if I had to trade one of Simmons or Embiid I would probably move Embiid as much as I would hate it. I also think Simmons pushes these narratives because he thinks he's doing his part to create instability with the Celtics' rivals.
maybe I'm just paranoid but I always feel like Embiid's body is a ticking bomb. I'd have to be confident I could sign Simmons longterm as well, which isn't a given. it would also depend on what the different returns would look like of course. not an easy hypothetical.
These mother fuckers constantly talk about the Lakers and it’s getting old. Lebron isn’t even playing and they still can’t help themselves. There’s nothing remotely interesting about that team outside of lebron either
embiid is a future MVP, shit he might be the MVP this year. Ben Simmons is a good player who can't shoot at all. I get the health concerns, but they aren't even comparable to me.
The move is to give it more time. It is very confusing why Simmons never attempts jumpers. Has there ever been a player or his caliber that has attempted like 1 3-pointer in 2 years?
yeah, I'm not saying they *should* move Simmons. He's a great player. Honestly, I think they can work together if they could get another shooter or 3 other than Redick. I'm just saying I'm 100% not moving Embiid.
Simmons, Bolden and #1's in 2020 and 2022 for Davis still probably wouldn't be enough. Imagine Davis and Embiid on the same team?
the woe is me Pats stuff is so transparent and it's infuriating nobody is calling him out on it if they win they've "overcome the odds" (despite being a 2 seed) and he'll use it to further try and shush any notion Brady isn't the greatest if they lose he's already been so negative about them that it undercuts any shit-talking Sal or whoever would give him It's pathetic how little he can take his medicine when he loses at anything
