again, I'll walk back my comments yesterday, it was an overreaction cause of the overreaction to the initial report. I agree, who gives a shit is the ultimate sentence to describe this whole thing.
Because it’s a kid that went beyond what was asked of him and graduated in 3 years as a student athlete. That’s highly impressive. Then you’re gonna gonna tell this 20 year old kid that did everything right that he has to waste a year on the bench because you’re upset? That’s pretty disgusting to be honest
they do suck, it is a high number. Biggest thing is the 2018/2019 classes are a much higher talent level than the preceeding ones. Most of these guys have all been passed by younger guys or guys in their class. Juwan Johnson (was a starter, had a horrible year), Lamont Wade (saw his reps decrease, passed on DC), and Zech McPhearson (good ST guy, 4th corner) were the ones that saw much PT at all. Rest of them basically got cut.
These young men worked harder everyday than these fans have in their entire lives just to entertain them on saturdays. Disgusting to see the way they have been talked about itt. I wish these young men the best of luck in their future endeavors.
you're getting mad at a school instead of the rule. my company invested a ton of money in science & technology in the area that I work to get ahead of our competitors, and all of that work, effort and knowledge would be very valuable to another company in the same space. My company also hired me out of school, trained me, and developed my skills on their dime. if they had a rule that would disallow me from moving directly to a competitor company if I wanted to leave, do you think they would use it? of course they would. They are losing their competitive advantage over that company. I'm too low for a non-compete clause, so their is no rule against it, so I could go if I wanted. There is a rule that allows the school to currently do it. Do I think there should be a rule? no. But there is one, so I'm not going to freak out on a school using it to limit a competitive advantage over 7% of 129 schools. Perhaps this scenario caused enough of an uproar that the Big 12 will vote to change the rule, then you will get what you want, and it was all worth it. But until the rule changes, I'm not judging a school for using it.
what are you confused about? he hadn't sign any sort of financial aid agreement or Letter of Intent to be a part of their program. He walked on and paid his own way. Walk ons can leave when they want as they aren't tied down by any contract. It's called signing day for a reason. He never signed anything.
I just looked up last offseason and counted at least 7 for OSU. Could be a few more since I can't really find anything that combs them all into one article.
Matt Burrell, Kevin Feder, Antonio Williams, Wayne Davis, Joe Burrow, Jack Wohlabaugh, Trevon Grimes following 2017 season
oh please don't get into semantics behind a word. They are providing housing, financial aid etc etc of that player, in return for their services in the classroom/athletic field. It's a contract, and has legal ramifications. Can't just walk away to somewhere else with no repercussions. It's not slavery, don't even go there Lebron
Wasn’t counting the four grad transfers and Grimes since he left during the season. How many of the PSU guys are grad transfers? I know Johnson is.
All but 3 are grad transfers. Lamont Wade (undecided), Brelin Faison-Walden (Charlotte), and Isaiah Humphries (Cal) are the regular transfers.
It is still a lot. Impact will be ST and scout team moreso than on the field....though we were gonna suck there anyways.
big receiver who uses his size poorly and drops way too many passes. Fix the drop issues and you have a very good WR on your hands
The 7% claim you keep using is so ridiculous too. He thought WVU was the best fit to better his career and Oklahoma tried to block that. The percentage doesn’t matter. They tried stopping him from doing what he felt was was best. This is COLLEGE. So don’t compare it to a company and employees. Universities are supposed to do everything they can to provide these guys with the best education and situation possible for their futures. But Lincoln Riley doesn’t care about that. It’s everything wrong with CFB
Right a contract that they’re forced into signing that artificially deflates their earnings potential and mobility because the players aren’t allowed to collectively bargain.
Apparently your company did not have « logic » very high on their list of skills to develop. Just kidding mate, I see what you are trying to say
lol we’ve had over 20 transfer out in the past 12 months. Completely overhauling our roster. That’s also a huge reason why we’re so terrible
Brian Snead of Ohio St did as well. He’s really good and will be a good pickup for whoever lands him.
