For any Dawes fans out there, Wylie and Griff are apparently on a lot of the BOCC tracks. Griff is one sounding off at the beginning of "Sleepwalkin'". Dawes is my favorite band and I just recently got into Phoebe so I am a big fan of this.
this message is marked high priority!! Chris Cohen releasing a self titled album via Captured Tracks on March 29th the single Green Eyes is below
I’m sorry Cornelius Suttree i got busy with stuff and then got sick and didn’t get my list together yet. I’ll work on it and post soon
Sacred Bones signed a Bay Area artist that goes by SPELLING. She's releasing her second LP (first on Sacred Bones) in late March lots of synth and some dreamy elements. Listen to the single Under the Sun below
Sometimes I forget about The Antlers. Then I'll think about them, go back and listen to Hospice and Burst Apart, and remember how much I loved them.
I must've been combining stories because I saw The Shins, Blind Pilot, and The Head and the Heart at Red Rocks.
Had to have been. I don't think Blind Pilot's relevance lasted long enough to tour with The Shins more than once.
they really weren’t even relevant at that time. I think James Mercer was a fan and/or they shared agents. They did have a decent headline tour last year though
I remember being really excited to see that they were part of the tour. I was pretty into them back then, so I probably just assumed they were relevant. I remember dude having an excellent live voice.
been listening to The Far Field by Future Islands a bunch the past few weeks and man it is such a gorgeous album this is not news to anyone in here but I didn't listen to it nearly enough back in 2017 that's for sure
https://pitchfork.com/news/the-antlers-announce-tour-hospice-reissue/ The guy did almost go deaf, so they are acoustic touring.
Speaking of, has anyone ITT suffered hearing damage? I've never worn ear plugs to a show but I've read some stuff that makes me nervous now that I'm old
I'm so lucky I don't have tinnitus. Got some friends with it and it seems so miserable Had a wonderful experience at an ENT last week fwiw
https://www.dailyherald.com/article/20150803/entlife/150809940/ The number of concerts and sporting events we go to....scary stuff It's the prolonged exposure that'll get you (festivals)
Shit I was reading said even lower level noise like working in a restaurant will fuck you up over time
Damn that is a short tour. I could drive 6 hours to LA though...... and they're sold out. Secondary market check: $92 minimum for some $30 original tickets for the Sunday show, $255 for the Saturday show. Yeah, I fucking hate this world.
the new William Tyler album is delightful. He's a master musician. The chillest perhaps. His venue The Stone Fox in Nashville had a brief run but it is legendary the single Fail Safe is below
Yeah, I have tinnitus. It's a constant high pitch squeal in my ears. It's from a mix of concerts, earbuds, working with airplanes, and thinking I'm too tough to wear ear plugs. It usually blends into the background but I have to have something playing for me to sleep. I can't lay in bed in silence.
Better Oblivion Community Center announced tour dates yesterday, just grabbed a couple tickets for ATL. https://pitchfork.com/news/better-o...ebe-bridgers-and-conor-oberst-tour-new-video/
really glad he’s playing at slowdown - that’s the venue I was the talent buyer at and the one owned/operated by saddle creek, whose offices are upstairs. The last few times he’s played in Omaha he’s gone to the competing venue called waiting room
