Do you think your fourth place finish is a stronger reflection on Ham or on a schedule that had you playing the first, second, third, fifth, sixth, and seventh place teams once?
I don't know what it is about FSU, but I don't ever feel like any of your players (who are very good players) ever jump off the screen to me. Was XRM the lone all ACC pick? Or was it Bacon?
That’s typical of the selfless, high-motor, coaches on the court we recruit. It’s an oddity to see: each one of our players is the first at practice and the last to leave.
Hamilton rotates like a madman. He has always said that his top 5 will never beat the acc top 5. However, 10 v 10 he could compete. So teams that slow the game down and play stingy defense usually win.
Certain people are designated as voters due to their proximity to and presumed knowledge of the ACC basketball programs. Those designated persons then submit a ballot for whom they believe performed the best coaching job conference wide. Some pick based on overall record, some based on standings relative to pre-season picks and post season reality, and still others simply choose their closest geographical coach because they don’t actually follow the sport. Those submitted ballots are then collected by the league office, tabulated to determine a “winner” and then that result is released to the media. The coach with the highest total votes is considered the Coach of the Year. To your specific question, one of the designated voters must have submitted Louisville Cardinals Coach Chris Mack as his pick for best coach of the 2018-19 ACC Men’s Basketball season.
you are a bad person. i hope you accidentally splash a few drops of pee on your work khakis and feel some mild embarrassment.
tickets to session 1 tomorrow are $6. ncaa elimination game at noon and vt vs miami after? don't mind if i do!
The bubble is really weak this year. Wouldn’t be surprised if Pack and Clemson get in regardless of the outcome tomorrow, but especially if we lose.
listen guy tickets are already cheap enough no need to try to fool us by trying to lower expectations for the importance of tomorrow
Notre Dame is the best ACC tournament team (using my made up measure of success vs. expectations) and it's not close
fucking acc tourney requires you to pay $5 to pick the tickets up at the epicenter before the game. now its a whole $13 for an afternoon of basketball what the hell guys
feel like the only Notre Dame game I saw this year was when they played UNC, and that seems weird to me
Guy I work with is a big Duke fan and he used to be married to a FedEx heiress. She was a State grad and paid for me to go with them to the ACCT in Greensboro a few years. It was awesome. Now they’re divorced and they didn’t even consider how it would hurt me.
My wife just found out she will get to go to the duke UNC game at Duke next year. She has loved duke ever sense jj Reddick. She is pumped even though it's a year away. She recently found out a family friend is coach Ks secretary or soemthing.
damn that's awesome. although tickets probably wouldnt be expensive anymore with zion not there. price should totally sink now
Gonzaga losing last night hurt the cause. I think if we win, Clemson has a real risk of missing out. If Clemson wins however I think we still sneak in. The pundits can’t let go of our historically bad OOC schedule, but the NET has that metric built in and we are still #32 as of yesterday. Most other metrics have us in the low 30’s and only one other team since 2008 has been left out of the Dance with our on paper numbers. But I’d rather we win and not risk it.
Yep, and it’ll depend entirely on how much weight this committee gives NET. If it’s a major factor it’s hard to see either team get left out. Not every Q1 win is the same. We have a Q1 win for being 14-17 Penn St, but not for beating Syracuse or Clemson. Oklahoma is deemed safe as a 9 seed despite being 7-11 in their own conference. Texas is a projected 11 seed despite being 16-15 (8-10). Minnesota is a lock with a 19-12 (9-11) record and 56 NET ranking. We played 7 games against top 18 NET ranking teams. We lost all of them, but taking UVA to OT should count just as much or more than beating Penn st on a neutral floor. What the fuck are we doing with that? I really feel like all the bracket projector dudes could be way off with seeding and who is in this year.
Also, there’s an outside shot that even if we lose today we still get another Q1 win because Clemson could jump into the top 30 NET if they beat UVA tomorrow. It’s really fun!
