after UNC, conference should be pretty wide open next year UNC Duke UVA Louisville Va Tech FSU Miami Notre Dame NC State Syracuse Pitt Wake Forest Clemson BC Ga Tech Wake picked a good year to return everybody. Could move up to that upper half.
I'm actually kind of annoyed by all these stupid programs who can't hold on to their best players, seems like FSU could make a decent jump, and Victor's pretty adamant about Cuse being good next year
i don't know how your two biggest rivals winning a title in consecutive years will help your feels it's a bold strategy cotton. let's see if it pays off
I am also legitimately sad not only that Anderson left (obviously) but that every #toptier team lost an underclassman to the draft, except that UNC's underclassman was a shithead who was good for as many turnovers as good plays per game. I have heard of FSU and Miami as the dark horse contenders next year. I also expect Virginia Tech to be much improved, if not obviously so yet. Duke will be interesting to watch with so much turnover, but you can count on them and Syracuse to always be competitive. Louisville is another question mark team. Georgia Tech and BC will continue to fuel their dumpster fires.
normally i'd question what new way we'd find to lose to BC now that Hanlan is gone but then we just sent Lacey off so now I see the strategy
Anyone know what's going on at Pitt? Are they expected to return to being good any time soon? Was last year a rebuilding year? I thought they were a good fit for the conference but I kind of consistently forget about them.
Grayson Allen Matt Jones Amile bad Plumlee Ingram Kennard Jeter plus Coach K's dominance should be enough for them to be strong
I think they lost someone of consequence to transfer Damon Wilson is from the ATL area and should be an impact freshman.
Plus Sean Obi (not going to be a star, but could be a poor mans Richard Howell) but if anyone wants to loan us a point guard that would be cool.
They also appear to have a 5* #18 in the country combo guard for 2016. Will be good to have them competitive again. League is so deep. Really only the two programs I mentioned above in bad shape.
shit i didn't even see that, yeah UNC insiders are all about Ingram being a Heel now and they're never wrong and what not
he's got plenty of minutes waiting for him in CH too now, and he'd be walking in to a championship caliber roster, I obviously don't know what his thought process is though
depends on who you ask. packpride says it's gonna burn down the school. insidecarolina says it's already over. i got no clue
jp leaving opened a starting spot for him or jaylen brown and a 6th man role for the loser if both come
all i know is jay bilas esq. said he doesnt think we will get sanctioned nor does he think we should get sanctioned so rest easy folks
Does he really? I don't see how you can play him and Jackson much together (if at all - too much overlap) and Jackson will be playing 30+ MPG (I'd assume).
plus even if roy goes with berry/paige/jacksob/johnson/meeks there are still jp's minutes available that have to go somewhere
You can do that when your 3 (tokoto) can guard 2s and can distribute the ball (JP's assist numbers were close to those of Paige). Neither is true of Ingram, from what I've seen.
i think ingram can guard 2's the 2 and 3 are interchangable for roy so its not really necessary to pigeon hole one player as a 2 or a 3
I think he'll take a big step forward. Talented player. As for the wing discussion, our 2/3s are interchangeable too but you still need to match up with the other team. Ingram isn't quick laterally, thus my concern about him guarding 2s. Don't think you want him in that situation, especially as a frosh.
i agree on theo stepping forward but he is pretty much a freshman again. missed so much of conference play that he is still more raw than what we'd like as a rising sophomore i think roy starts with the two pg lineup of berry and paige and would use ingram as a super sub a la marvin williams in 2005. he'll get starter minutes but be the 6th man to spell justin and marcus.
not to be "that guy" but how the hell was XRM not at least 3rd team ACC? He also became the first freshman in ACC history to score 30 or more points three times and finished in the top 10 in the ACC in scoring. He scored 35 points against both North Carolina (Jan. 24) and Miami (Feb. 25) and scored 30 points against Clemson in the ACC Tournament (March 11).
now i figured out who kenny williams is. was just reading up on him yesterday. i think he's ours if we want him but he's definitely gonna have to wait for ingram and jaylen to announce so yes to your question
simple question to answer it: who do you take off in favor of him as far as guards? he is amazing but i dont think he had a better year than any of the guards that actually made it
Saw a Carolina 247 article that they had reached out to Mack. Wouldn't be surprised by this at all tho.
i'm not sure Ingram is an instant impact guy. I look at him as more on the Justin Jackson path of struggling a lot for most of the season and finding his shot/role late. Huge upside and some think he's the best NBA prospect in the class, but dude's rail thin and not an elite athlete.
