Yea but having to deal with your parents complaining you never come out of the basement because you’re playing “the Nintendo’s” (which I’m sure is a very offensive comment for a PC user), telling you that you need to get outside more and play with your friends.... it seems like it would annoy me. Do yourself a favor and buy a console both of them normally have bundles you can buy that come with your own place to live.
Jkjk The peak of my FPS gaming career was in Counterstrike (the original half-life mode). Soph-senior years of HS I played many many hours, clan, wallhack, sometimes enabled the headshot auto aim when using deagle etc etc. Also got back into it via CS:Source after college Yes aiming with a mouse in an FPS is practically god-mode compared to right joystick. If there was a way to use something with a left joystick and a mouse for the right hand for console I would buy that shit in a heartbeat. Still try to employ the old AWP L33T move of zoom>drag>fire in a split second in D2 with the 700 bolt action. Not as easy to quick-flick the right stick as it is to drag mouse but I have success with it. My older brother built gaming computers on the side for like 10 years. It’s not hard to do
ACOG 4x scope perk was my #1 priority because it makes ARs and Rifles viable as a long range weapons early in the game. If you have the chem launch healer skill, ignore the Extra Armor Kit capacity until later. I probably didn’t use a single armor kit in levels 10-30 because I always had a chem available and you can drop it and resume firing instead of the 3s kit animation. Agree the XP ones should be early grabs. Besides those, unlock the mods that have +stability and ignore +accuracy ones bc currently a bug that defaults your accuracy bonus to whatever stability is. Besides those I’d say: Detection #1 - and when going to a mission/encounter, fast travel to closest control point and talk to head officer. Don’t have to donate to activate perk just talk. Deconstruction #1 - deconstruct early don’t sell + Nade capacity til its maxed Restock #1&2 Fill in the rest as you see fit
Follow up - can you post your weapon damage summary numbers? Screen shot or list for your primary. My dumbass has thought this whole time that “damage to elites” was strictly named bosses. So I’ve had that at the bottom of the totem pole all along. Endgame/black tusk has so many no-name yellow elites and my crew was baffled last night at unloading full 30-60rd mags on them without killing. Kinda curious what the optimal balance would be between elite dmg, Crit Chance/damage, and HS damage. Obviously generic weapon damage and gun specific damage is top priority. But starting to think I shouldn’t even really worry with critical dmg boost just damage to elites and Crit Chance. Seeing people on reddit with builds having > +100% elite as a no brainer
Just got to WT2 last night. No use staying here right? Just get gear score and do invaded missions and get to WT4 as fast as possible?
once in WT4 you just kinda grind out leveling up the CPs to tier 3 and then take them over? what else? daily hard/challenging missions? darkzone? inventory management?
know that what youre about to read is 100% verified truth the absolute best part of this game is the transition from character creation to gameplay, then its all downhill from there
The week I redownloaded D1 was the most fun I had in that game. People clamoring for more and more world tiers and more leveling up need to chill. Best part of the game is when you get where your shit doesn’t get outleveled with every 2-3 new missions. Still waiting on those crit build #s Odin i tried my best and in WT4 I’ve got mostly 430-455 gear and can still only get up to 38% Crit Chance 50% crit dmg 66% elite dmg. Probably could get a few points higher on each with recalibration but not wasting time on that until WT5 I guess. I do roll Ranger onto current rifle and Close & Personal onto current AR and LMG every time I get a new one that’s a keeper
Start at navy hill, talk to CP officer to get resource locator. Work your way east til you hit capital hill. Stop at each CP to rebuff the perk. Very titanium rich
i'd love to show you my build, really would, but i dont get the drops i need and even if i did WT5, so i havent even been playing to be able to get the drops. and even if i did get the drops ive recently been thinking max cooldown reduction could make the build more interesting than absurdly high armor. its a frustrating situation all around
How good is the gear you find in the DZ? Also, where are some of the spots where Exotics can be found?
Only been to the DZ once since doing the original DZEast missions early on. Went in WT2 and cleared 2-3 landmarks (very easy with a crew and prob a couple random squads showed up) and got ~7 pieces of gear that were all a good 6-10 higher GS than what I was getting in invaded missions. Exotics are in hard/challenging missions and supposedly random named boss drops. I know the smg takes 3 random parts blueprints you get in hyena territory via hyena chests (farm keys in the underground at the south end of the BoO map section) and chests are in the theater downtown section of map. I know I’ve picked some up but honestly don’t know where to look for that of crafting bench shows those since I can’t make the gun yet.
Also trying to make jumping jacks the official “I’m cool man” sign of peace at DZ extraction points. Tell your friends.
Other players still trying to steal the loot I assume. In D1 I would literally wait until 15 secs left before extraction to run up while consuming a medkit due to being invincible for 7 secs. I still got killed a lot, but they couldn't hijack my gear.
I got lucky and got some gear piece with +1750 skill power. Unlocks real solid + radius and + dmg for firechem and duration, cooldown, and health for healer drone. I’ve heard defender drone is great for “tank builds” which sounds like your style. Only other 2 Skill atts are +19/20 cool downs. All you really need attribute wise because your gear is bound to have pieces with passive boosts +10% skill haste (why not just call it cooldown like everything else)
Honestly haven’t done it enough to know. That one night, nah we extracted twice with 3 groups there total each time and everyone just did jumping jacks together. Some of the drops you get aren’t contaminated and hit I think lvl20 where you get the perk that auto saves one contaminated piece if you die before extracting. The 45min we were in the DZ I’m pretty sure I leveled up after every single kill for a while. The XP boost perk is tight.
Has anyone done conflict? Read that it’s not being used at all right now bc people are grinding out story. Hopefully when they install the 8man raid they also allow 8v8 conflict that’d be pretty sick
My friends said it's pointless to play the PvP, everybody is running a one shot build. I have zero exotics (besides pre-order) and am confused by them. Need to just do some googling. Also, I'm like a 452 and didn't get anything of value from the DZ.
I haven't done anything but story and WT grind. Have Roosevelt Island Stronghold to do to jump to WT3 tonight. Tried to run to the bridge to attempt it last night. It has the Control Point right by it. I engaged the bridge units and got circled by units from the control point and another skirmish to the right. Was completely surrounded by NPCs. It did not go well.
Any clanless XB1 folks wanna bump their GTs we have 6-7 regulars that are cool squadding up with whoever. Really need all the XB gamer tags bumped. I see 2-3 online playing D2 that I know are from here
I know most have been through it already but the WT strongholds are so nerve wracking for me. Entered WT3 last night but the final stage of Roosevelt is not a great place for solo. So many opportunities to be flanked. Hope to enter WT4 by Friday, which will lead right to WT5 grind.
Just entered WT1. Is the sole way to go to WT2, etc, is to complete the missions and then subsequent strongholds? I’ve done everything solo so far. It’s been fun but pretty challenging.
Yeah 2 invaded missions and then gear score requirement. I have never had to worry about gear score, between missions and what you pick up while fighting and control points it goes up pretty quick.
With specializations, do the points allocated only apply to the active specialization or can I spec into Assault Rifle Damage in Survivalist, make it inactive, and then activate Demolitionist for the Grenade Launcher and still get that damage bonus?
Some will know more about this than me, but I believe it is only when it is active. You gain specialization points by class, so if you choose sharp shooter, the missions you do give points for only that specialization.
Played 3 hours lastnight after Braves game. Looked up and it was 3am. Wife wasn't terribly pleased. Went from Level 9 to Level 13 real fast. I don't mind getting killed. Helps to figured out attack points, etc. Their flanking definitely gets better as your level up. Starting to run into grenadiers/elites that shoot fucking gas at you. Got flanked last night and got normal melee person, suicide bomber and shotgun melee guy all at the same time. How I came out alive playing solo I'll never know. Will say it again. So much better than D1 and I still have gone into the DZ yet.
What is this game compairable to? Also any ps players on here? That’s been my biggest thing with anthem and destiny is not very many friends are playing them.
It’s like a cleaner more straightforward version of borderlands. It’s a looter shooter and it’s a ton of fun. I believe there is a decent PS group on here but the game is fun and totally playable solo.
I think CUtigers would be quick to point out that D2 has a loot stream system. Nobody is scallywagging your loot
Can’t imagine playing that fight solo. But also can’t imagine why in the mother fuck everytime We play with two or one more random people they always try to take out both tanks at once. It takes a hint of awareness to realize that destroying one tank releases a wave and a second tank releases an additional wave and that you can do them one at a time and save yourself a lot of fucking problems The other two strongholds aren’t hard at all on challenging with marginally intelligent teammates.
Also have only done like 2 strongholds since getting to the endgame. In the 250-450 grind it’s just too easy to get enough loot for that grind. I’d rather go scavenge some resource nodes that almost always have 2 pieces of gear with a handful or zero enemies Only con: Have to run everywhere and sometimes I look like a little bitch running in the grass by offense to avoid conflict sometimes I look like a bitch having to run in the grass to avoid conflict
Charged a control point up to level 3, called for backup to assault it. We took our time, but eventually got through all the waves and to the defense part. Got ambushed by some asshole and wiped while the control point was white. Respawn, fast travel back and get an alert that the CP has downgraded to level 2. Thanks division 2. Asshole.
Yessss. You think you've got it, then another group of rushers flank you out of nowhere (gold, mind you) and you die. Then all the NPC's die and you lose a level.
Best thing is when you finally fucking solo it, but die at the end. Then the asshole npcs that took their sweet fucking time walking there take it over somehow and you get nothing.
I may be playing too much bc I can solo tier 3s in WT4 without a problem. Definitely gotten to the point where all my loot is more or less the same just different brands and attributes (know this changes in 2 days but this is the fun part to me) Not terribly hard to put together a good damage/armor build if you look at the D2 encyclopedia spreadsheet at what pieces you need. Decent little builder on reddit too for experimenting while at the office and dreaming about loot. Ranger + 8x scope on Military P416 with 40/45 crit hit/dmg 85% HS and 95% elite is pretty lethal with a few choice +weapon/AR dmg mods. Pairs well with Tactical AUG A3P secondary with Killer talent and + optimal range Toss in bezerk on Vest and wicked on a Gloves and the chemflame assault build is a really nice stew
I would have a hard time using an 8x on an assault rifle because I prefer being able to aim down sight.
