    Did my third 30 minute ride in 30 days last night. Set my record at 389 output for a 30 minute ride.

    This shit has made it brutal getting up in the morning. Feel like I can't get enough sleep.

    Edit: has been three 30 minute rides in 3 days but as part of the new challenge for thirty 30 minute rides in 30 days.

    Managing my blood sugar is a little tricky after all my surgeries, and I have about 20 rides in my history where I bonked and stopped riding. Tried something new this time when I bonked hard tonight - got off, got something to eat, got back on. Actually worked pretty good - I felt pretty rough after getting back on, but finished it up. Biggest negative is I'm way to full for a beer right now.

    Whenever I take longer classes or longer days (stack classes) that are combine to go over 60 min I make sure I have some sort of energy gel or bananas. You should make sure you do that in the future.

    I keep energy gels on the bike and mix Skratch in with water. Rode a 75 min on Thurs and forgot to restock (I ate two or three during that ride). I looked down when I started to feel lightheaded last night and only saw one there...knew that wasn't going to be enough to get through 25 minutes since one usually doesn't pull me out of it. Last night was a shitshow - strayed from my pre-ride snack and was riding exhausted thanks to sleep deprivation. I got what I deserved.

    I definitely don’t do myself any favors. There are times that I ride 45 or 60 minutes, going hard as I can, on a 14-15 hour fast.

    Have thought about dropping a nuun energy tab into one of my water bottles when I ride but trying to avoid something with a lot of carbs or sugar.

    Yeah coincidentally those exact ones. That and bananas. I try and stick what has worked on long runs or outdoor rides. That way (although I am home) I won’t have to worry.

    Fasting and working out usually isn't a problem until the workouts go over 60 minutes. For me at least. Everything I've read also says under 60 minutes you should be good.

    Rode 75 min (PR) last night with a 10 min cool down. Got home tonight thinking it was time for some tempo, and saw a Christian Vande Velde ride tonight. Don't get a lot of ride with the pros opps. Joined the encore, and fear struck when he mentioned this was the VO2 max version he was doing (not sure what the other ride was). The first sets were four 3-min sets (1 min zone 3, 1 min zone 4, 30 sec zone 5, 30 sec zone 6 - for me about 230, 270, 310, 350). 11 1-minutes at high speed, high output was pretty brutal for an ending (rode those 280-320).

    The stories he told about sets he did while in training were motivating in the sense that these intervals were so tame in comparison. Not one of my highest outputs, but not sure my shorts have ever been sweatier. Mega sweaty hell.

    Needless to say, his form was incredible. Enjoyed it, more so in hindsight.

    My turn to be hurt, left ankle area. Feels like tendonitis, but I had a slow-healing and painful subluxation of that ankle's peroneal tendon when I took a heavy, awkward twisting spill skiing in Utah years ago.

    I was riding some very recent climb rides with JJ, and pushing much high resistances in the saddle than I normally do - wondering if that did it. Ice and ibuprofen for now (really only bothering me when I try to peddle). Starting hurting at the end of my 500th ride Friday night. Hurt on my first rotation last night so I shut it down immediately. Going to full rest 3-4 days and try very easy pedaling mid-week.

    Has anyone ever needed a repair to their bike? My seat is fucked up. I usually ride at a 28 or 29 height on my seat, but no matter how tight I make it, the seat slips down to a 26. Is that something Peloton will fix? When I pull the seat up, it looks like the area where a 28 or 29 would be is a little scratched and dented.

    6’5”. I believe seat height is supposed to be right at your hip bone, so that puts me in that range.

    My seat is between 34-35. Will be lowering slightly if/when I can clear out ankle tendonitis, which apparently can be caused by seat height being too high and keeping tension on ankle tendons with each rev. Why is took more than 5000 miles to happen is a little strange.

    Took about 5 days off battling allergies. Still battling them but decided to power through and ride today. It was very not fun.

    His playlists aren't always the best but he knows his shit and does some drills at the end. The PZ program he and DM had before the music issue was good.

    If you’ve never ridden indoors or out start with 20 min beginners.

    Like Daniel Ocean said. Start with the beginner rides. I do a 20 minute ride and stayed within the numbers they tell you.

    From there they have beginner rides that go up in difficulty and time.

    Before you ride watch the tutorial, don't skip it. Gives good information on how to adjust the bike height and help learn the positions for call outs.

    Do a Robin HIIT and or one of her Tabata rides. Start with a 30 min one. There are also some pro cycling rides on there. Climb rides are also good.

    I really like the bodyweight strength workouts on the app. Started alternating those with ride days.

    Funny you should ask. I tried that very thing today and it worked for about 10 minutes, then slid right to 26.

    Yeah but this would not be a good thing to do especially on a spin bike. You won’t be able to get the power you need in regular shoes

    The power and workout you get is the push and the pull. Trying to go as fast as you do on a spin bike (20-30 mph) your foot will slip off the pedal in tennis shoes that’s why you need clipless shoes.
