Thought he was well regarded? Treadwell was also dropped, he's not well regarded but may still be an improvement over our #3 WR ...
They're still on their respective teams. This doesn't mean they're released. It just means they're going to be free agents next spring instead of getting their option year picked up like Decker did earlier this week.
Are they going to give the money back when they underperform their contract in a few years? Slay wasn’t that good last year.
I don't get why Slay is holding out now. He signed that extension a while ago and had base salaries of $1m, $4.1m and $2.7m the last three years. Now he's actually going to get paid ($12.5m in 19, $10m in 20) and he holds out because it's not fully guaranteed or something like that? He's not getting cut, so who cares if it's guaranteed?
Hey guys, don't miss the offseason minicamp puff piece on Teez Tabor potentially improving after two wasted years because... ((reads article))... he has decided to try. Sweet! https://www.detroitnews.com/story/s...-meeting-detroit-lions-high-hopes/1359482001/
Seems like a pretty damn stupid thing to do by him and the team considering just how dog shit we were last year. But hey, fuck getting a top 5 pick.
That’s dumb. I don’t say this with ill will, but just retire. He’s made hundreds of millions already. This franchise isn’t worth not being able to move in twenty years.
I for one think they will be good this year and win 9-10 games. Too much talent on the roster and Fat Matt should improve
The annual QB ranking done by polling league personnel people and coaches is now on The Athletic: https://theathletic.com/1082093/2019/07/22/2019-nfl-quarterback-tiers-rankings/ I don't c+p full articles from The Athletic, because I want people to pay for it so that it survives, so here is the pertinent info for this thread: He's sandwiched between Carson Wentz at 10 and Watson and Goff tied for 12.
I've got 4-12 as my prediction. Maybe we can get a really good OG or slot receiver with the 3rd pick of the 2020 draft
"Devoid of weakness" per SI... “BOTTOM LINE: Aside from questions at guard, the Lions are subtly devoid of weakness. Some of their sharpest work last year came against the NFL’s best-coached teams, and this year that translates to success in a lot of close games.”
Tavai already being in the starting LB group is a bit surprising and I'm hoping it means good things for where he is going into the season.
