Nice. I was looking at the 26th or the week before. He doesn’t play during the Auburn bye week. But he does play when Auburn plays Arkansas so that’s pretty much a bye week lol.
I knew you lived in California, but for some reason thought you used to live closer to here. If you can get away and come to a show, I’d definitely recommend it.
I went to Auburn and then lived in ATL for 6 years. Never had any friends from or lived in Nashville. I went to the Santa Barbara show and I’m currently wearing the shirt today haha
Seeing the greatest songwriter of our generation at the Mother Church of Country Music is an absolute must in your lifetime. He’s crushes at the Ryman.
This is probably my favorite show ever and I've seen Isbell 11 times. Great fucking weekend too. Gambling, college football, show at the ryman.
Carlile, Amanda, Hemby and Yola, a soul artist from the UK, with the guest verse. Sheryl Crow on the backup vocals.
A female friend of mine and myself we’re in the car today and she played “The Highwomen”. Her: “This song sounds so familiar, but I can’t place it” Me: “..........The Highwaymen? The literal song it’s a remake of?” Her: “oh shit”
FYI: On October 18th, Southeastern Records will reissue Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit (2009) & Here We Rest (2011). Both titles have been remixed by Dave Cobb and remastered by Pete Lyman. Pre-order limited edition vinyl and more today. https://stores.portmerch.com/jasonisbell/new-stuff.html
I have all the albums. I can't imagine the mixes will be all that different, and I'd probably rather stick with the originals regardless.
Then again, I was at an Isbell show about 3 weeks after the infamous twitter post where he left DBT. The night was salty, and fun.
Live stream from LockN at 7:45 EDT/6:45 CDT https://relix.com/news/detail/watch-now-the-relix-channel-announces-free-lockn-livestream/
This was a great set. He told a story about being at a festival on LSD while trying to find his keyboardist in the crowd so he could ask him to be in the band. It took 8.5 hours to find him. Then he talked about Wayne of The Flaming Lips going in the crowd in a hamster ball. Pretty sure he was referring to Bonnaroo 2010 when the Flaming Lips did Darkside of the Moon.
Musgraves is up for a CMA award so that’s probably why for her. No idea on Isbell. If Childers backs out, I’m speaking to a manager
I know we used to have some Houndmouth talk in this thread, my buddy is opening for Katie Toupin on her solo run she’s about to do
Katie Toupin's solo stuff is really good, Houndmouth is garbage without her. Their debut album is one my favorites of the decade.
How hard will it be to get these tickets? Also, anyone going to dbt at the fox Friday night? Show starts at 7. Wonder what time they'll go on.
if you're on at 11 and get after it you'll be fine. the DBT shows there and at 40 watt used to sell fast but could be had. not sure if bots have changed it much since I was in Athens tho
I've seen him in Athens before but I feel like getting tickets for any show is much harder now than it was a few years ago.
