Stayed away from the thread during the game because I was too nervous. Honestly I’m ok with that result at the Emirates. I saw so many more positive signs from our offense. Also saw flashes from Dele and Lo Celso which is going to be huge. Lo Celso moves a lot like Lamela but quicker and smoother. Winks also looked better than late. Really fun but nail biting game.
Xhaka with 7 fouls and one card. Gotta love it. Atkinson was liberal with the yellow card for all but him.
Only disappointment is the newcastle result. Everything is fine. I don't know, I want 3rd this year. On pace for that with getting 2 points away to Arsenal and City.
I still think GLC is showing some flashes when he comes on. I hope he can overtake Winks soon. Also loved seeing Eriksen flying down the field on the last counter that Sissoko (predictably) skied it over. Having a motivated Eriksen is crucial to us getting whatever is wrong with this team, fixed.
Def, we have a favorable upcoming schedule that will hopefully build us a solid foundation. Palace, Leicester, Southampton, Brighton, Watford. By the time we face Liverpool on the 27th of October, I believe we ought to have figured out our system and how our new pieces will fit in.
Also team hope GLC can eventually start in the midfield. Ndombele is great but someone needs to play beside him, and we all know Winks and Sissoko have their faults. Wouldn’t hate seeing Sissoko turned into a rb/rwb. He could get up and down the wing using his size/strength and rarely be in position to shoot. RB is a huge issue and Sanchez should never play there again.
Sure. But we ought to win them still. My mental breakdown of the league is expect a loss vs Liv/ManC, expect a draw vs ManU/Arse/Chelsea, expect a win everywhere else, with perhaps a draw when away from home.
Been saying that about Sissoko. The closer to the touchline the better because when he is in the middle of the pitch in space he is fucking lost.
One other positive from the match, I thought, outside of the one blunder on the ball, Lloris was great in goal. He made a few tough saves, and could’ve been forgiven if he spilled it into an oncoming Arsenal player. But he controlled every one of them. I feel like we take some of his saves for granted. Probably our motm today.
Although after perusing the epl thread I guess PeterGriffin thinks that's a dive as well. I just don't see it.
I mean, convince me. I see Kane trying to shield, I see Sokratis extending his arms sort of, but then Harry's right foot tries to catch Sokratis' and then he kind of hooks his feet around Sokratis' left leg as he falls. That part is the most "damning" to me that makes me think it was more of a dive than genuinely being fouled.
The reverse angle is the damning angle. Kane goes down on his own. Sokratis left hand doesn't even push him, it just slides along his back.
You're welcome to post a second angle. But I'm confident you'd have a different opinion if it was a red devil.
I rewatched it on dvr. Couldn't find a video. And lol no, this isn't some anti-Spurs conspiracy. There's a reason that most people, save for a handful of Spurs fans, think it was a dive.
I wish the club would put out Poch-arm-signings pics with Eriksen, Toby, Aurier, Vertonghen, Rose but just without a pen or a contract. Just that we kept them. Stability is back on the menu, boys.
The fact that we kept all of them means, imo, this is the most talented Spurs team in living memory. Now it's Poch's job to get all the pieces to start working together.
Sounds like Gio picked up a slight knock (groin) that doesn’t seem to be too serious, but we all know how that goes.
Harry with a hat trick and assist in England's 4-0 win over Bulgaria. He has to be one of the best penalty takers in the game.
That is extremely frustrating. Considering he wasn't fit enough to start games for us he shouldn't have even been released in the first place.
Also, fucking Newcastle plays flawless defense against us but completely shits their pants against Liverpool. Assholes.
