I got on a flight to San Diego at 6:30. Hope it actually goes. They just shut down the bar at the AmEx lounge. Mass chaos.
Waze routed me straight into the worst part of Westheimer from the Shepard exit off 59. There weren’t any cops or anything yet so the only way I knew something was fucky was all the cars in front of me turning around.
I thought I was hosed when it put me on Memorial and I saw people turning around but it took me off just in time. The people going out toward the Galleria weren’t so lucky
So far they’re saying this is the worst fresh water flood in American history and is a 1-1000 year flood. Just like Harvey was a 1-800 year flood. Two years apart. Not to mention the Labor Day or tax day floods.
If I try to leave the airport (my SD flight is delayed.....if it’s cancelled) would I be better off going toward the woodlands for hotel purposes or is going back toward City Centre/Memorial City ok at this point?
The water has mostly receded. Judging by my maps there’s still some closures. You’re probably best not trying anything. Or waiting like two hours for a better result.
Full 4 hours in an Uber and now 8 hours in the airport. Boarded a plane and now we have to switch planes because that one is broken.
fucking astros. my tickets that i split with a friend are $26k a year. they charged me 8$k in august and i have another $8k pending right now and he has been charged $0. also pretty cool that they collect 2/3 of the ticket cost for 2020 before the 2019 season is even over
According to the Chronicle, he showed up at Rudyards' open mic night last night. A good friend's wife does some stand-up on the side and was planning on going last night but ended up having to cancel due to something coming up with work.
might have asked this before but where is the best area to stay either hotel or airbnb wise prefer to be able to walk some cool bars/restaurants but also not spend a billion dollars for a room and parking
If you can get an Airbnb close to Montrose and Westheimer you can walk to about a dozen of the best restaurants you’ll ever visit. Other than that nothing but downtown is really walkable here. It’s a driving city unfortunately.
Found one next to Inversion coffee short walk to the Hay Market I might have booked it by the time you read this
