Late and y’all might not care but Kinlaw is way better than Quarles. I don’t remember Quarles demanding double teams, especially on passing downs, like Kinlaw. I thought he played a hell of a game against the best line he would see all year last week.
https://restaurantweeksouthcarolina.com/city/columbia/ Restaurant week in Cola; those are the specials. Black Rooster is new/cool. 1801 Grille if you're feeling very nostalgic for campus. Kao Thai is a small Thai place across from Tin Roof. Home Team BBQ in Five Points stays packed but you could go there
KOA is at the bottom of the new Aloft in the vista. Upscale Mexican with a really good tequila bar. Kind of pricey but it’s been good both times I’ve been. Hendrix on Main Street has a roof top bar and good food. Hall’s just opened up in the old Oak table space on main. Same people as the Charleston location. Home Team in 5 points if you want BBQ - smoked wings are my go to item. Let me know if there is a specific thing you are looking for and I’ll respond.
Good suggestion -- went in with no expectations and halfway through my meal I was like, this is better than every other fancy taco joint in town. Been three times and the cocktails and food were top notch. Need to get back over there I believe the name is COA
Black Rooster is doing three courses for 30 bucks for restaurant week rn. I would be all over it if work wasn't literally shitting down my throat these days.
I got terrible diarrhea from some sandwich that had hotdogs and a fried egg on it from there. People always say good things but I can’t go back.
I went to that basketball tip-off thing last night and Keyshawn Bryant jumped over some guys. It was kind of a weird setup but I bet the videos and such from it are gonna look sick. I noticed a drone flying around overhead
Happy anniversary Sissy Ball! Spoiler 111 YEARS AGO TODAY IN COLUMBIA On Oct 30, 1908, the University of South Carolina played its first ever intercollegiate basketball game hosting Furman on an outdoor court set up at the fairgrounds. The game was played at 11:00 AM on the last day of the State Fair and Furman won 21-19. (There was no Big Thursday football game in 1908 as the Carolina-Clemson rivalry in that sport had been suspended since 1902. The series was resumed in 1909.) The Gamecocks hoopsters would go on to lose all three of their games that season in the sport the Garnet and Black yearbook dubbed “Sissy Ball”. 1908-1909 Gamecocks Basketball Team Photo from the 1909 Garnet and Black Yearbook https://digital.tcl.sc.edu/digital/collection/garnetblack/id/39970/rec/10 From The State, October 25, 1908, page 5 1908-1909 USC Basketball Roster Photo from the 1909 Garnet and Black Yearbook, page 115 https://digital.tcl.sc.edu/digital/collection/garnetblack/id/39971/rec/10
What would have been more valuable an excellence coin or an actual opportunity to meet Creed (Apollo or the band).
I'm not watching, nor do I care to watch the rest of the year. Football season will be over the day the Cowboys blow their 2019 super bowl chances. Which was really during exhibition season
This is gonna be like the Kentucky (and Georgia) game(s) where the other team’s QB play gives us a game we don’t really deserve to win
