Haha, was thinking along those lines. We might could rent to TMBers, I see them discussing coming in their soccer team threads
My brother lives in DC, but is a Liverpool fan b/c he studied abroad there and worked with some Scousers he became friends with. I think we gunna go. Some of those European players are going to think they have entered hell playing in Columbia in August lol
I’m obviously going to be in attendance. I don’t see why they thought this was a good idea though. Not just the weather, but our stadium is far too narrow to accommodate the normal dimensions for a soccer pitch.
I was intrigued even though I don't care much about soccer. I saw the prices online today and, nope. Not doing that.
Someone who knows hoops recruiting...this is good right? South Carolina basketball commit Eli Ellis has been named Overtime Elite MVP Ellis 33.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game this season.
"According to Thamel’s report, Paris’ contract will be extended through the 2029-30 season and will average over $4 million annually." Robust! Hope that's enough to keep him
We're now the undisputed second placed team in the SEC thanks to getting screwed by the tiebreaker that costs us the double bye.
It'll look good hanging next to a banner commemorating the Women winning 8 out of the last 10 SEC Tournaments.
Hired by Clemson. Former South Carolina DC Lorenzo Ward joining Clemson staff by:Wes Mitchell•about 3 hours• Wes Mitchell Former South Carolina defensive coordinator Lorenzo Ward is joining the Clemson staff, multiple sources confirmed to GamecockCentral. TigerNet’s David Hood was first to report the news and WSPA’s Pete Yanity also confirmed it Wednesday night. Ward had already changed his Twitter/X profile to a photo of him in a Clemson shirt. Ward is expected to join Dabo Swinney’s staff as “Special Assistant to the Head Coach” after spending the last five years as Chatanooga’s defensive coordinator. Clemson hasn’t yet announced the news. Ward and Swinney have a long history going back to their playing days at Alabama and Ward’s long-time friend Woody McCorvey is also on staff as Chief of Football Administration. Ward was at South Carolina from 2009 to 2015 on Steve Spurrier’s staff, first serving as defensive coordinator in name only under Ellis Johnson and then ultimately taking over the Gamecocks’ defense in 2012.
This is not a post I ever wanted to make, but we lost one of our guys. User Pharoh very unexpectedly passed recently. He loved the Gamecocks and got to see them play in every SEC stadium. I’ve made at least a dozen of the away game trips with him and had a couple more lined up with him this fall. More importantly, anyone who ever talked to him instantly loved him. Hate to bump the thread with a sad post, but I wanted to share because I know how much he enjoyed this thread during its heyday and TMB as a whole, often making TMB references IRL. I have no doubt he is chuckling about the Whammy news on the big message board in the sky.
Holy shit man. He was a great poster. Thanks for letting us know. He picked a good username. You have to be that dude if you're gonna call yourself Pharoh. He lived up to it.
The funny part is he was someone I talked to daily and had no idea he posted on here. I logged one day and saw one of his posts and thought, “Damn that sounds like user Pharoh”. Turns out it was indeed him.
Hello to the thread. My fam and I are contemplating a trip to South Carolina this summer for a vacation, never been. Plenty of people tell us to go to Hilton Head but wanted to see what ideas you guys had (fine if HH is the suggestion). We're open to really anything. Will be travelling with a 9 and 6 year old. When we go on vacation we like to lounge, not super active, if that helps. I think we'd want to be close to the beach but will hear all ideas. Feel free to DM me if you'd like or post here, just don't want to clutter the thread. Thanks!
I didn’t love HH the few times I’ve been there, but I was a lot younger. From what I remember, it sounds like it would be right up y’all’s alley.
I’ve had good times at Westin Hilton Head for a lounging type vacation. They allow dogs so it’s a good beach if you like to spot puppos
Can’t really go wrong with any of the low country spots. Kiawah, Edisto, Charleston being other options. Hilton Head is nice but touristy and the drive on to the island is a disaster with all of the rental check-ins.
Anywhere but Myrtle Beach is going to give you what you’re looking for. Beaches around Wilmington NC aren’t bad either.
Baseball coach hire is weird. Beamer about to have a rough season with this schedule. Joyce Edwards tearing it up with Team USA.
I'm no apparel expert but it seems Nike would be dying to get their hands on our wbb program. I will most likely be buying A'Ja size 12s when they come out next year.
She'll be the catalyst if it happens. Ray or whoever is AD would be a fool not to negotiate a big contract with Nike while Dawn has us as the premier women’s program. Lamont will benefit the most but I think Shane and a couple other coaches (track, baseball/softball, volleyball) all would rather be wearing the swoosh.
I think Beamer sucks, but the idea that this is a "prove it" year with this schedule is outrageously dumb. And again I don't know who these people think we're going to hire to replace him.
