There’s no doubt in my mind that Sister Night and Dr Manhattan are going to be the hottest Halloween couples costumes of 2020
I wonder if we'll see anything on looking glass, lube guy, or how the warden came to be in the finale
A lot of questions still to be answered. Have to think Lube man is Petey. Don’t really see any other way to fit it in the show. I think LG ends up being the big hero in the end and saves everyone.
No one to pay for an autopsy I think she said. I almost got the feeling that Jon created the body knowing it would be one Angela would find attractive and then planted it.
Lindelof said that the lady from the egg farm was reading it when Lady Trieu came a knocking as well.
So 7 candles on the cake so he escapes in 2017ish? I wouldn't be surprised if that statue is actually him.
UrethraSpillage 1267 points 1 day ago* Hooded Justice has Dr. Manhattan’s powers. He hasn’t shown to be a liar. He told Angela, “I’m Dr. Manhattan.” He ate a hard boiled egg in episode 2, which was given to him by Dr. Manhattan. As we learned Dr. Manhattan can transfer his powers by infusing it with food. He stood up from his wheelchair in episode 4. Of course he did because he has Dr. Manhattan’s powers. The beauty is Hooded Justice is going to finish what he started by defeating white supremacy once and for all. Let’s fucking go. Edit: Rewatch the episode 2 interrogation scene and almost everything he tells her has proven true.
Lindelof went on the watch podcast and it’s an excellent interview. Discusses everything through Sunday’s episode.
This just makes too much sense for there to be another explanation at this point. It always had to be about his story from the very start of the show. The opening scene was even him watching a movie where a white sheriff gets lynched by a black sheriff because the white sheriff was a cattle thief. This also explains a lot about why he is able to still be alive at such an old age and also how he was able to hang don Johnson's character. They didn’t spend an entire episode on parts of others on his back story for him not to play an even more major role. I will be very content with this outcome.
Baby Act violations aside, I feel like him being 100 has less to do with immortality and more to do with allowing the show to highlight the Tulsa Race Riots. Also, if he is Manhattan he’d have to have a memory block which would make him forget that Angela told him about Judd Crawford.
One thing that still doesn’t make sense to me is Don Johnson’s character. He actively helped hunt down the seventh cavalry in the first episode. Our only info that he was bad was based on a circumstantial paradox. All of his actions that we saw pointed towards helping the police and respecting and treating African Americans as equals.
He actually says in episode two that he used psychic powers and that maybe he can manipulate things with his mind and that he is Dr. Manhattan. Angela says you can’t be because he is on mars. He says well maybe he can make copies of himself. He then admits he is not Dr. Manhattan but tells her that he has told her a lot but she hasn’t been listening well enough.
Wow, end of episode two outro music is Beastie boys, Egg Man. Means so much more now. There are also references to eggs in the first and second episodes, Watching the episodes with the context we have now is so much better. I have no idea what to make of the Topher floating castle scene. Could just be the type of toy/tech it is. That said, they do go out of the way to differentiate him as a more important character than the other two kids.
I’m a firm believer in the baby act. I honestly loathed the Westworld and GOT threads due to the theory crafting and the fallout when those theories failed to materialize. I appreciate the group in here that has enjoyed the ride and are now twords the end of it going back and piecing things together. We have the same dynamic I think in the Dark thread and it’s MUCH more fun that way. It really makes these threads sooo much more fun to follow
But what about the time user Dirt checked his DVR and saw ep 9 was titled “A God Walked Into a Bar” and then during the opening scene Lindelof had it written “A God Walks Into Abar” is user Dirt banned for a “fan theory”?
Keane shows contempt for the local 7K members when talking to Looking Glass, and mentions him and Judd were sent down there to keep them in line. I think those guys were nothing more than pawns and Judd had no problem with them dying for the cause.
After rewatching all episodes... is it possible that lady treu is providing the 7th Calvary with all of their tech? Being of Vietnamese descent, maybe she wants to destroy dr Manhattan and is using the 7K as soldiers to do it. Will put her on to Dr. Manhattan and maybe she serves up cyclops to will for the hookup?
A nice touch when Manhattan visits Veidt in 2011 or whenever is that Veidt is still dressed like it’s the 80s, as if he can’t let it go
From Peteypedia. Sounds wild Spoiler “The morning after the calamity in Greenwood, the dust has settled but our nerves have not. Martial law remains in effect throughout the city as Haz-Mat teams continue to collect the remains of Unidentified Subjects #1 and #2 (the conspicuous absence of Placeholder Name and Placeholder Text give us an indication as to the identities of the remains, but given their condition, DNA testing will be required) while the other corpses are intact and once removed from the wreckage, should be more readily identified. One of them may be Agent Blake.”
Good. I’m honestly curious how they could even wrap up everything with 3 more episodes. At least their giving some more time on this.
Not to nitpick but Judd's hanging was definitely the flashlight trick thing, we see it from his Nostalgia pills with Angela sitting in. The theory makes sense though, transfer his powers to Will as part of the "alliance" they form in 2009 ...
Bass Reeves was indeed a real life marshall in Oklahoma. Fun wiki https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bass_Reeves
Yeah wasn't sure what people were confused by. He took the Cyclops tech and used it to have Judd kill himself. It wasn't a trick or anything.
I’m doing my rewatch and had a thought during episode five. It would be pretty cool if Looking Glass brings Veidt to account if in fact Veidt is back.
I’m still team LG is the sacrifice play. He’s going to throw himself into the 7Ks intrinsic field subtractor to destroy it or something. He stole one of the Rorschach masks didn’t he?
