“But the travel ban” I saw an article from several years ago talking about how obama handled Ebola and it was dispelling “travel bans work”.
That's nice and all but India is (or about to be) absolutely and completely fucked by COVID, likely even more so than places in Africa or North Korea.
I believe we are past the H1N1 death count. I hope someone reads his tweet/statement about Obama's failure to the pandemic control resulting in less deaths and if he is now a failure
Didn’t someone tweet out that 150+ are dying at home a day in NYC but they aren’t counted officially towards covid-19 deaths?
We still aren't testing enough, period. Until we do so, returning to normalcy or having high confidence in having turned a corner are pipe dreams.
even if Dems get vote by mail in this next bill the SC will 100% fast track it and deem it unconstitutional
no doubt. But it shows that it's possible to to have damn near immediate impacts to the environment if we can somehow adopt clean energy quickly. I've said since this started that we should be forward thinking about investing in clean energy infrastructure during this recovery.
those of you defending anything ellen does should look into how she treats her staff and those she deems beneath her she is a monster and absolute trash
There’s also a very long twitter thread of horror stories from people that worked/knew people that worked for her
I get that social distancing is probably working. what happens when everyone goes back to school and work? how long do we social distance?
very likely they weren’t recovered and their “all-clear” negative test result was a false negative but still a scary proposition.
Using humor during dark times is always needed. Making a joke about being in 15 million dollar private “prison” without making any type of self deprecating humor makes you tone def, and we don’t need any of those types of jokes.
Jeff's pandemic is climate change and the resulting need to colonize space, in his mind. That is his contribution in his mind, don't expect it to change. He's not concerned with today. He could do both, easily
I'm fine with the Ellen hate going on but did you read the joke? "It's mostly because I've been wearing the same clothes for ten days and everyone in here is gay." Get mad at the celebs who are doing interviews being serious about how they are struggling in their mansions.
Everyone is just out on Ellen at this point I think. She can get fucked regardless of the appropriateness of that joke
You’re probably right, bad mood this morning, and it’s amazing how your mood can impact your reaction to humor.
Said this earlier, but dem groups should be blasting gop areas with the prospect of getting sick or letting Libs vote on guns and abortions.
those republicans likely don’t understand what republicans politicians do. If everyone votes by mail, more people will vote and republicans will lose a lot of close races.
Yeah it’s definitely not China’s fault at all. Definitely all America’s fault that this virus is wreaking havoc on the world.
This video does a pretty good job of breaking down why her comment is extremely tone deaf and gives her great advice that hopefully she follows because it would be a great use of her platform.
As a nation, we're going to get impatient and open too soon. People will start socializing too much and traveling too much. Cities with larger pop. density will suffer more in the subsequent waves b/c we don't have the testing/IT/logistics/social responsibility know-how to make testing work like South Korea. We just don't. So it will be a rolling pandemic in coming months with new shutdowns coming in fits and starts.
Republicans will change their minds after a few weeks days of tweets from President Spray Tan and Fox News propaganda. Opinion will be sharply divided along party lines by next week.
https://www.marketwatch.com/story/n...erican-renters-2020-04-08?link=MW_latest_news Only the first week was studied so the number may improve but given all the circumstances this will likely be a continuing trend over the next month or two Only 69% of tenants paid any of their rent between April 1 and 5, compared with 81% in the first week of March and 82% in April 2019, the data show.
Lol, this country isn't social distancing for 6 more months. I agree with you, but too many people can't have the economy at a standstill and are going to push to reopen things.
