Also, can promoters stop acting like Hager is anything more than an enforcer character? He’s just not good.
That was probably the worst heavily promoted match in AEW’s short history. It’s made worse by the fact that it was filmed like two weeks ago, so they had plenty of time to make edits, but they still had it go like 35 minutes. Learn from Edge and Orton, guys.
Also, I’m curious what AEW has planned for its PPV. I love what they have been doing under the circumstances, but I can’t keep regular watching empty arena shows. It’s just weird. And now they want people to pay to watch a (presumably) empty arena show? Good luck.
They built it to be an MMA style fight, which is cool. I love Barnett’s Bloodsport. It doesn’t work when you’re going to end up going a half hour though. That was just bad decision making.
the Fink is irreplaceable. There've been some good ring announcers, but no one could do it like he did. He also gave us the name "WrestleMania"
I assume AEW has a ratings benchmark in their contract. With the current climate I do wonder if more decline could lead to their deal being restructured.
I haven't seen people talk about the ratings in a while, didn't realize NXT was beating AEW in the ratings recently.
Think it's been 3 of the last four, although I dunno who's paying attention to it during the empty arena era
Dying WWE tonight announced that the first-ever "Climb the Corporate Ladder" Match would take place at the 5/10 Money in the Bank PPV. Taped at WWE Headquarters (aka Titan Tower) in Stamford, CT, the match will, according to Michael Cole and Corey Graves on tonight's episode of Friday Night Smackdown, begin on the ground floor and end on the roof of Titan Tower. The implication was that both the Men's and Women's Money in the Banks Ladder Matches would be held under these rules, with the implication being that they would have to fight their way through Titan Tower. There will be a ring on the roof and the briefcases for Money in the Bank will be hanging above Titan Tower. PWInsider.com broke earlier today that WWE had filmed content for the MITB PPV atop the roof of Titan Tower earlier this week.
Smackdown had some sneaky good stuff. And it was all worth watching Big E title celebration. Just awesome
holy shit, that actually sounds kind of amazing. If each floor doesn’t have like Stephanie, HHH, Shane, or Vince step out of an office in corporate clothes, turn and square up to fight like some fucked up video game boss fights, that’s an opportunity missed
My first thought was the concept would be even crazier/better if it was centered around a single person. Imagine a 1999 PPV main event with Austin having to climb the tower, fighting different members of the Corporate-Ministry, etc, before facing The Rock or someone on the top.
luckily for you, there's a wonderful match just like this at Uncensored '96 as the Alliance to End Hulkamania takes to 3 levels of a cage
"You know ladies, when you spend some time with the Big Valboski, you won't be sleepless in Seattle, you'll be moaning in Tacoma" yes I do believe his writer's out of ideas here
