Yeah. She may not do bike. She does a ton of tread, strength, and bootcamps though. https://www.onepeloton.com/instructors/tread/jesssims
Got my bike last weekend. I'm loving it. I've been riding with Alex and Cody so far for the most part. Liked Alex's 30 minute hip hop work out.
Also corresponds well with her being one, if not the only, instructor which wasn't a fitness professional before this started. She was hired for her ridiculousness. Definitely for some people as she has quite the following but I can't stand it. The appeal of the bike though.
I appreciate that Jess King seemingly does stretches and poses that show off the boobs during the ride. Really helps give a little mental boost.
Agree on Jess, she def does the least amt of work on the bike of anyone. But she's good for a change of pace or eye candy.
Digging the 10 minute arms toning classes, trying to do one at the end of each ride and use it to cool down and flush out legs as well, they’re quick hitters.
I’ve had the bike almost three years but just got into power zone training about two months ago and not sure I enjoy any other type of ride as much anymore. Might be my favorite way to ride. Highly recommend the power zone program, have made noticeable difference for those new to the bike.
It’s tough but at the same time motivating to keep going. I’m about to retake the test this week since I’ve seen so many gains. End of the day it’s just a hard workout, nothing to be intimidated by.
Agreed, until you get to the 4th or 5th test. Having followed reddit, and my own personal experience, that is when the plateau typically sets in. Wilpers preaches it but have to be prepared for some dips and doing a more well rounded routine and then coming back stronger for the test. Like my last one was the 3rd of the year and my zones have been hell (tested at the end of March). Only had a modest increase (10 watts) but hard to hold Zone 5 for 3 minutes (didn't rush either). I will probably dip in my next one when I take it here in a few weeks. Just have to be prepared not to get frustrated as hard as that is.
My workout goals switch too throughout the year so I’d expect some up and down fluctuations as I switch focus between strength and aerobic exercise. That’s good to know though.
Considering getting the bike since I'm missing not going to spin classes and not sure how long we'll be without the gym. All my friends rave about it. A couple questions: 1. Is the Basics Package ($2,245) the best deal or any reason to get the Essentials package ($2,404 or more) if I have clip-on bike shoes I use at my gym and free weights? 2. Can I use my blue tooth gym headphones to synch with the music or do you have to buy their headphone that plug into the consel? 3. Any good promo codes to save on the purchase or do you just have to buy the standard price?
1. you can buy everything at other places so it’s a simplicity thing (what’s easier for you) I forget what clips are used right now but if you have the type used no need to buy any others. 2. you can use any Bluetooth headphones but I’ve learned my Bose sound sport have a delay. My Powerbeats are good. Look up what type you have and see if there is a Bluetooth delay. 3. people have promo codes that get you and the person who gives it to you $100 credit. If no one sends you one PM me and I’ll send you mine.
Two other quick questions before I maybe pull the trigger today or tomorrow: 1. Any reason not to do the 0.0% APR financing? Assumes it's simple and easy to use with the loan company (Affirm) and you can payoff if needed? 2. I see the warranty is only 1-year. Is there a risk of the bike breaking after year 1 and you're just shit out of luck or is it easy to get maintenance to repair, etc.? I'm assuming the bike will probably have at least a 4-5 year use.
Ive used Affrim before for other items, no problems. The bike is pretty sturdy, but like anything some people will have a few issues. The Peloton subreddit has people's experiences with some of the more common things, most seem to be minor and customer service seems good from what Ive read. Ive had no issues with it after 3+ years.
1. None whatsoever. 2. Have had my almost 3 years and all good so far so can’t answer how difficult it would be to get help.
I keep forgetting about this thread. Damnit. Wanted to see that Kendall has quickly tied Robin as my favorite. Also, I really want this fucking rower to become a real thing soon. https://www.google.com/amp/s/otakukart.com/241522/peloton-rower-release-date-what-we-know/amp/
One of the reddit moderators who seems to get some ‘inside info’ from an employee was pretty bearish on the rower. Said it is pretty inferior to other products and Foley really had no direction other than liking rowing and trying to get it to market ASAP. Hopefully the delay is a good sign they aren’t rushing it.
I like it so far. Replaced the seat ASAP. I’m not into the social aspect as much, so the iFit program works well. I like the location rides a lot. The auto resistance and incline changes are pretty cool. The thing weighs like 6,000 pounds. It was also pretty easy to unlock the tablet for apps so I can set the workout then flip to Netflix or whatever and do an hour of mindless spinning while watching on the big screen.
Just ordered. Delivery coming July 11th lol Thanks for the help guys. Didn't add extra warranty to it, but I'm assuming I can change before it gets delivered if needed.
Wow at that delivery time. It's amazing how many 10th ride announcements pop up in rides these days, they are selling a shit ton of these. My bike took 2 days to arrive.
I'm hoping there's upside to that delivery time. My buddy said his friend in Nashville ordered one last week and it will be here next week. I live in a big city, so ~8 weeks sounds kinda crazy to me.
Alex Touissant, in conjunction with ESPN, is doing a Last Dance ride tomorrow at 1PM ET. It’s a 30 minute ride to songs from the show.
Finished week three of the strength training program. Absolutely brutal. I think I need to do a yoga course next. My flexibility to do squats correctly is piss poor. While my legs are strong I have a hard time feeling comfortable with the movement.
If you find one let me know. I've started branching out to a bunch of yoga classes on prime video. I just run a peloton class of equal length to log it. Would love to find a program.
So my buddy ordered one last month, they said a 6-8 week delivery window, which he was fine with. 3rd party delivery company emailed and said it be there in 3 weeks. Never came. He called and they said he had "slipped through the cracks" and if he wouldn't have called he wouldn't have received it. They then said it be here today and the company didn't make it down from Phoenix. He's frustrated. Told him its probably bc they're so overwhelmed with new orders. Did the last dance ride yesterday and had to have over 20 people hitting the 10th ride milestone.
Did my first bootcamp subbing bike for tread today. A little tricky. The bikes screen doesn't have bootcamp classes on it. Had to use the firetv app for peloton. Started bootcamp on it and during the tread sessions I did a free ride on the bike. Worked pretty well but had to pause during transitions as it takes a second to get shoes on and off. Wound up with a solid 30 min 454kj ride and 30 min full body weight workout, e.g. pushups, squats, planks, etc. Really good overall workout and will do this a couple times per week going forward.
I am. I’ve been doing separate ride and strength classes so this might make it easier hopefully. Do they cal out speed or what on the running section?
Kendall has 2 mid afternoon tomorrow. How was it? Was planning on doing it but got roped into cooking dinner.
90s rock so the music was my taste and she looked great. I enjoyed. 3 hiit sections and a couple long hills.
Yep. Both speed and elevation changes, which matches up pretty well with cadence and resistance on the bike. Not the numbers exactly but difference between jogging, sprinting, flat road, hills etc.
Curious who puts up the most absurd numbers on those ESPN rides. Going with Rory, only with they would have done Federer as that would have been a no-brainer.
Guessing it is pre-recorded but this weekend Peloton showing two rides (one with Alex and one with Alex) with 8 professional athletes, both women and men. https://www.espn.com/espn/story/_/i...-mcfarland-bubba-watson-alysson-felix-compete
