Oddly enough it literally did - all of the commercial space under the complex one block away (that includes a Walgreen's) was broken into. I'm just waiting for it to be 6am so I can go see what the actual impact has been since we're under curfew.
These curfews just seem like an excuse to start shooting tear gas and assault people. Wish the mayors would stop enabling them this way.
I'm also cynical enough to think the cops are doing these "take a knee moments of solidarity" purely for the cameras
I don't think there's any doubt on that front. The clear focus has been optics in a lot of cities/states.
There's been more than a few videos/tweets showing exactly that. Cops in "solidarity" with the protesters when the big TV cameras are on, then an hour later bashing skulls and shooting people with teargas
It’s funny how all the people who believe that “stay at home orders are tyrannical” seem to have no problem with these curfews, I wonder why they don’t view these curfews the same way. Maybe Why?Pokes can provide us with some perspective on why one is tyranny and the other is acceptable.
The mayors have never controlled a city. That title is just a pretty little prop. Cities have been politically controlled by police unions for the past several decades.
Dang is it ass eatin season already? Time flies when in 6 months you have wwiii almost starting, a global pandemic, and mass protests.
Gotta wonder what the combo of local, state, and federal law enforcement, National Guard, regular military, 3%ers, and various armed white supremacists patrolling urban and non-rural voting precincts will do to Black and other POC turnout during the November “election”
Not sure if this was a dig at me but like a lot of people I’ve been incredibly depressed and been under massive stress for 3 months now. I am doing anything I can to give myself any sort of pleasure
If nothing else good comes from this I'm so happy to learn that the backdoor teen mom is neighbors with Eathan.
