I kinda always liked them, but a brand I for sure really like now is Ball. Some of their shit is crazy and way out there, but a lot of their stuff fucking works. I can't believe how big their catalog is. Kudos to them for actually being innovative and daring. And their lume is sick.
I’m in the jewelry business. To open a Swiss watch line it takes a lot of conversations. You basically have to convince them you’re worth their time. Swiss watch companies are major assholes to the retail industry.
Was looking for a new watch that wouldn't break the bank. Came across this. Anyone have one, or have any insight? Spoiler: Omega Constellation Double Eagle Chrono
Was talking to a Realtor today, that also works at a local jeweler. She wanted to know if I was interested in this Patek, or knew of someone that might be... mentioned I had just acquired a BB58 & she immediately offered up someone willing to pay me a 50% mark-up, as they couldn't source one. Bye-bye for now BB58 Spoiler
Tudor releasing a blue bezel and dial Black Bay 58, huh? Wish they would release a BB58 GMT too. Curious what Rolex will roll out in Aug/Sept.
Been rumored for awhile, but never made official. Did they announce? I expect a BB58 GMT in the coming years
Imagine it’s primarily to keep their cost down while at the same time not devaluing the existing steel (aluminum?) bezel model. Also, that should be an eight second video: “cool watch... it’s identical to the heritage black bay, but blue. Please comment below and don’t forget to like share and subscribe”
I completely get it but it doesn't change the fact that I'm not buying a $3-4k diver with an aluminum bezel. I would scratch the everloving shit out of that.
Deep Thursday thoughts: 1. I was wrong about seeing an influx during the spring C-19 season and price drops due to more pieces hitting the market. 2. Those pieces are now hitting the market. And despite the delay, prices actually seem to be rising. 3. The blue BB58 is already on Chrono24 for $700 over retail. This shit is insane.
5 lines of text, can’t do it. I was initially going to get the Pelagos over the Omega but decided against it based on that.
The draw is solely the crazy lume & it being a limited edition. I'd limit wears to Pride Week, or if I ever decide to summer in Fire Island.
Ftr that Ball model was the impetus behind the first post on this page. I’m with you Jorts i like it. We’re fancyboys
I love the Ball GMTs but they have terrible value retention and don’t move quickly, at least here in the US. Unless I got a great deal (25-30% off retail) I would not buy one over other options.
Fafa fofo is looking for a sub $1,500-$2k timepiece. Sent him the usual suspects that dominate that sphere: Tissot, Hamilton, Oris, Longines, Seiko, Ball (hence my flamboyant post) His requirements are blue face & he seemed to gravitate towards chronos. Really want him getting in trouble with the wife, so any help/ideas you all can provide would be appreciated.
Fafa fofo are you looking for a diver, chronometer, dress watch, pocketwatch, new, vintage? Give us something more to work with here
Fafa fofo The Omega Dynamic (used) is in that price range and not bad. Can prob spend a bit more and go black dial on some type of Speedmaster, depending on wrist size. Not sure about blue chronos though.
Thanks gents. Watch aficionado Jorts is a bit ahead of the curve, but I am starting to consider replacing my Apple Watch. Literally began contemplating this yesterday. So far only done minimal looking, and blue face chronographs are about as far along as I’ve gotten. A bow is getting purchased first and once I start practicing with that in the yard it will do plenty to piss her off.
