Finished Hearts of Stone main quest last night. That's some damn good DLC, so if Blood and Wine is even better...ohhhh boy. Added Shani to my list of romps. Triss Yen Shani Girl from the mountain top fight Keira(RIP)
Good lord, there's a lot of content in the second DLC. Did everyone keep full witcher gear past level 44 or so, when regular gear starts to out-stat it?
I switched to regular gear. There's a side mission that gives you some pretty strong armor. Also I found some badass armor that was hidden in a lake that was higher than anything I ever found. Some relic shit.
That's the one I was referring to you get for a mission. There’s a stronger one I found in one of the small lakes in the fairy land.
And Syanna to round out the list of conquests. Just over 130 total hours and Blood and Wine is done. That’s a hell of a lot of content, boys.
Game is amazing. Started my save file up for the first time since 2018 after beating Days Gone. Wasn’t even out of Novigrad, was level 14. Currently level 19, messing around on/in Skellige. I would say I’m fully entrenched right now. Any tips for doing anything before advancing any further?
Level 28 now, completed a shit ton of contracts and side quests earlier in the week, but lately have been grinding the main story. Probably about 5-7 missions left in Act 3 and god damn is all I have to say. I should’ve finished this years ago. It’s not easy to get me immersed into a world/story, but the hunt for Ciri, the war going on, everything has me hooked. The side quests relating to the actual world around you and helping to develop the story only makes it more immersive. An amazing game that I feel shitty for now rushing through to play GoT, but I’ll knock everything out once I come back for the expansion content.
Haven’t played much Witcher, even though I own it. Kinda just sits there on my Xbox hard drive bc I don’t have time....but I would put Tiny Tina’s DLC from Borderlands 2 against any piece of DLC content of any game. Maybe I’ll fire up Witcher and play it couple hour increments for the next year and see.
The Witcher is great, thankfully I had already started back in 18 otherwise I think with so much to do I would’ve been good overwhelmed. Really wanna play Ghosts of Tsushima so that’ll be my break between the main story and the expansion
my wife played it a couple years ago and loved it. It’s right up my alley too, but every time It’s so damn large and in-depth, I feel like I make no progress if I only have an hour or two to play. Wish I could have had it when I had 12 hours a day on the weekends to dedicate to video games.
Wonder how much of a difference there would be for PC users. The game already looked damn good on ultra.
Ghost of Tsushima did fast travel right. Can fast travel from anywhere on the map and it takes about as long to read one tip or hint and then you’re loaded in
Has anybody run into a glitch where golden oriole is not available at the herbalist N of Oxenfurt? I’m playing through Heart of Stone and suffice to say I’m going to need it
downloaded this over the weekend and started playing tonight. had never played a witcher game. i don't understand this shit at all. am i supposed to be looting all of these plants along the path? how do i skill things like people mentioned? i just beat up some people outside of a bar near the start and die on my way to talk to some nilfgaard guy to a wraith
haha you seem frustrated or impatient or maybe both. The flowers are used for potions and stuff. once you made the potion you will never have to make it again it fills up when you meditate, so you wont usually need a lot of the same flowers. its good to do it, but its not necessary, so you can always wait and do it later. you need to loot recipes for the potions anyway. Skill things? do you mean the skill tree? Just take it slow and learn the game. its confusing at first but you’ll pick it up quickly. just ask here and i’ll help.
It takes a while to fully grasp how all the different systems work. It’s not that they’re complicated, but there’s a lot going on. I had the same problem.
1. I wish I could go back in time and play this game for the first time. It's probably my favorite game of all time 2. Loot everything, crafting materials and potion ingredients don't count against your carry weight. Take some time to look for chests tucked away. Potion formulas are a big thing to find early on. 3. Skill points can be thrown into 3 skill trees. I usually only choose two to put points into. Places of Power give you an extra point to throw into a skill tree. 4. Take it slow, and do the side quests.
this can not be said enough so many amazing side quests. Monster contracts etc. are also amazing side quests.
I started playing it for like ten hours, put it down for six months because I was overwhelmed, and then picked it up again because all I heard was how amazing it was. Best decision I ever made and I’m mad I made myself wait those six months.
Only if you like perfection. There are games 10x the cost that don't approach the depth and quality of either DLC, but Blood and Wine as a stand-alone would be a top 5 game in any reasonable year.
Looks like I need to get back to the expansion then. I still have Horizon's expansion as well to finish.
