Haven't been drinking a lot of beer lately, but I sure am enjoying the Sierra Nevada Pale Ale I'm currently drinking. that might be my desert island beer. so long as it's reasonably fresh, that is.
Trying to figure out if this Belching Beaver Deftones IPA I'm drinking is skunked or just really bad. It was canned 4/16, so has some age on it, but tastes like shit. A lot of sediment in the pour too, I'm just leaning to this being a miss and will end the night with Bell's lager.
Bruh, it’s almost 3 and the Barves play in a little over an hour. Me and Degausser have to get our minds right.
I'm going to go by the beer store after work and try to find something tasty. Need to keep adding to my new beer fridge.
Here’s my new beer fridge. It is a little better stocked than this pic, but could use some more inventory. Work in progress.
Just ate enough Korean fried chicken to kill a horse. Now on to one of my favorite regular release Burial IPAs
Gotta get that beer fridge bro. It also gives you a happy wife happy life. Because the ladies hate a fridge full of beer taking away from their domestic things like eggs and milk. Separate spheres of influence and such.
You’re in Raleigh, right? Ever check out Brewery Bhavana during normal times? One of my all time favorite spots.
Absolutely. One of my favorite places ever along with its sister restaurant Bida Manda. Unfortunately, they may end up being cancelled: https://www.goodbeerhunting.com/sig...wery-bhavana-bida-manda-prompt-co-owners-exit
Damn, not sure how I missed that. We’ve got friends who recently moved to Raleigh, and they’ve taken us there both times we’ve visited and each visit was among the most memorable food/drink experiences of my adult life. If what’s in the article is true, and there’s no reason to believe it isn’t, good riddance to all involved.
Yeah it sucks. The head brewer, Woodson, is actually the son of NC State's chancellor and and uninvolved with the restaurant side of it. I hope he can continue brewing beer, Bhavana or otherwise, as he is a stand-up guy by all accounts.
I know the head guy is from Heist but know nothing else about them. We don’t get kegs or anything up this way.
We started getting it around the same time as Heist, but smaller quantities and it goes fast. Looking at their IG, I’m not even sure which cans I’ve had as all the art is basically the same, but they kicked ass.
Heist and New Anthem any of you been to Barrel Culture in Raleigh? Also, just further west a bit in Graham there’s a new spot called Forgotten Road Ales, it’s great.
yup, couple of times. They’re based in Durham but just opened their Raleigh taproom. They’ve stepped up their IPA game of late. Forgotten Roads beer looks great but I can’t get over the logo.
Let’s keep it going. hawkeyeOUTeast Tangman, this is the best Heist I’ve had thus far. Up there with Burial’s top shelf IPAs imo.
I do agree, but I still love Heist as well. It’s pretty aggressive but they’re really nice people. If you think the logo is bad don’t go into the bathroom.... the wallpaper is millions of their logos in black and white. I stopped in on the way to/from the coast last week and their fruited sours are great as well. Honestly tried everything on their tap list and didn’t have a single I wouldn’t have ordered. Stopping in after golfing that way tomorrow too. If you do go, get the restaurant (Verdict?) from down the road and order the PB&J wings (more of thai peanut sauce and less J flavor, but very very good).
I still have my college dorm fridge that I use for my beer fridge. I should probably get a new one. Sounds like it’s on it’s last leg and I’m sure it’s killing my electricity bill. (Got a couple 4 lokos in there just in case of an emergency. Never know when you might need one)
