Witnessed this guy getting abandoned today. The owners drove off before I realized what was happening. He's been super sweet and playful with me so far, but he attacked my dog, so I'm keeping them apart. Took him to the vet who said he's a 1 yr old American Bulldog/Boxer mix and appears to be in great health. My SIL wants to adpot him, but she's already got 2 dogs and if he's dog aggressive (no idea if what happened with my dog is a reglar thing or not), it's definitely not an ideal situation. So if that doesn't work, I'll probably have to take him to the Humane Society and hope they can find a home for him? Idk. Super cute dog though!
Sister-in-law wound up taking him. She's a bit of a dog whisperer, so I'm hoping it works out with her other 2 dogs.
At the beach on with our 5yo dog. Drove three hours and then let him play for a few hours on the beach when we got here. When we got back to the house we noticed that he keeps sitting down on his back legs after walking a short distance. He’s been doing this for 2 days now. He doesn’t keep standing unless he’s stalking the kids food. He doesn’t seem to favor one side when he walks or limp. Doesn’t seem to be in pain. Just walks a few steps and then sits. I take him outside to potty and he just sits. Walks a few steps and sits. I can hook him up on the leash and he will walk ok for the most part. It’s really strange. any thoughts? I’m thinking he may have pulled something? His tail acts fine.
I actually took one of my dogs to the vet yesterday for similar symptoms. Was acting lethargic, not jumping on the bed/couch like normal. I had played with him kind of hard the day before this started but he never yelped, limped, or anything. Vet concluded he must have tweaked his hip. She had him stand up and alternated picking up back legs to put all weight on one and you could tell one was shaky/weaker.
Two year anniversary of meeting my bf! Love this wrinkle face. Took 8 years after my first boy passed but picking Dawin and now his lil sister Artie up is the best decision I've made in years. I will never be dog free again.
These two are so in love. Don’t have the heart to tell them it can never be. Modern day Romeo and Juliet.
This is apparently very old and this is a very large thread so my apologies if it has already been posted. I made a meager attempt to see if it had.
Teddy has his first run in with what I thought was a wasp at first, but I found a stinger cleaning him up. Doesn’t look like it’s bothering him too much, which is a relief.
I was walking Cinder yesterday morning and this young coyote is just sauntering across people's yards. Cinder goes into her "I want to go say hi to that dog!!!" body language and I was like "noooooo girl that is NOT a dog". Given Cinders standard dog greeting is "run at them full tilt then break off at the last second" I'm sure we'd have had a vet visit if she'd slipped the lead
Any leather leash suggestions for a large/giant breed dog? Saddleback is sold out and chewy options seem cheap and have bad reviews.
