From an NHL.com article While we were on the phone, we also talked a bit about our NHL Awards program, which will start during the conference finals, and what that will look like. And we're already planning for the 2020 NHL Draft, which will take place Oct. 9-10 with a virtual twist.
I cant remember what podcast or who the player was - Marchessault, i think He said he wasn’t planning on having his family come. They have to quarantine in a hotel room for four days before they can see their families , move around. Said any player w kids, having their wives not go crazy in a hotel room for that long is almost impossible. And it’s just normal hotel rooms. Not even suites.
I wonder what their plans for next season are then. Maybe do like an MLB and travel but in empty arenas? I don’t know how that will work with the 7 Canadian teams if the border remains closed.
Its a fucking nightmare is what it is. My grandfather was taken by ambulance to the hospital last week and said he wouldn't make it through the night. He did, then he got taken again by ambulance yesterday. Now hes admitted with pneumonia. For us to go up there, literally have to go sit in a hotel room for 14 days and they come check on you. I can't go to any family members house or anything.
Adam Silver admitted that the NBA probably won’t start up in December, so the NHL will follow suit. I think the best option are weekend pods. Get four teams together and play three games in four days, Thursday - Sunday. So theoretically, the Wings, Leafs, Senators and Canadians could play in Toronto round robin style.
Not to totally derail this thread but there is a piece of me that hopes he doesn't if that makes any sense. Hes not living a happy life. Since quarantine at the nursing home hes gone from 220 to 160. Hes been on Home Oxygen for the last 5 years, he can barely walk. The man is not living a happy pain free life. He doens't want to be here either. This is why Im a believer in assisted suicide. But this is a whole other topic.
I hear you. My grandma passed a way in April. She was 101 and was ready to go for at least 5-6 years. I was sad that she passed but also happy / relieved for her. It’s an odd and conflicting feeling. Also complicated by the fact that I couldnt come in town to be w her in her last days because of COVID ect.
my grandpa passed away in December and I felt the same way. He couldnt hardly stand up by himself and I knew that he hated being that dependent on other people to do stuff for him.
Yep this is exactly it. My grandmother passed in 96 and he had "friends" but he would come spend basically 6 months living at our place in Florida when we moved down here. He had 6 kids and 14 grandkids. 10 of the grandkids girls. So he loved spending time with us and went to all our hockey and lacrosse games. The moment we no longer played, its like thats what put him downhill. He had nothing left to basically go do. He always says "I hate being a burden"
avs beat them in the bubble, but i’m pretty sure dallas beat them all 4 times during the regular season
Hot take - Dallas’ blue line probably matches up best w the Avs out of any of the teams left. But their bottom six is doo doo and have like 1.5 lines that can keep up w them, which will be their downfall
I lied I thought they were reseeding after every round, but just after the play- in round, apparently
They are but Dallas and St Louis are locked in at their respective spots because they are using the round robin results for those teams, and the regular season for the other teams
Joe Sakic is a bitch Patrick Roy was a better as a Canadien How does it feel to be the best team in your city to only have less fans than the poorly managed Broncos Last but not least, you have to have gw8 as a fan of your team #Colorado Avalance
1. No 2. Thank you Mr. Obvious. Roy was one of the best goalies of all time. He was just better in the graceland that is Montreal.
not mentioning Claude lemieux when trying to talk shit to the avs fans is a pretty bad rookie mistake
Quality of life is a huge factor and it always stuns me when families with completely dependent family members insist on them being full codes.
