haha 3 hours in and they are at $6k. So much for that. https://www.artsy.net/artwork/sacai-kaws-customized-nike-x-sacai-white-ldwaffle-sneaker-spring-2020
some 6 part series on snkrs about the history of the dunk edit first episode is up Via Nike SNKRS: https://snkrs.app.link/XtCOWPvVEab
Just got finished watching. Saw it after I posted. I enjoyed it. Nike's done a great job with Dunks the last 18 months. Even i want to mess with them now. But prices have skyrocketed so much that I don't even want to mess with it. As a Dunk guy, what do you think of the last few years? Are you glad they put focus back on Dunks and made some cool pairs or are you mad they are hyped and impossible to get now?
$22k after one day. My God. https://www.artsy.net/artwork/sacai-kaws-customized-nike-x-sacai-white-ldwaffle-sneaker-spring-2020
i liken it to my backpack rap days when we had our guys (em probably being the biggest example) that nobody knew anything about then one moment comes along (em’ snl performance) and you just know that it’s about to explode i got into dunks in the middle of that second and third life they talked about and it was our little shoe that nobody gave a fuck about, but there were so many tough ass shoes then came what the dunk (like em’s snl)... and when i got the call from my skate shop plug about the line forming days before the release, i knew it was gone not like i stopped buying, but just how hard they became to get because of the hype over that one pair luckily that wave only lasted maybe more than a year and then it lost its hype to jordan’s. not that jordan’s never had hype, but they jumped to a crazy level a little after ten years later came travis scott and now here we are reliving it all over again i exaggerate when i talk about depression and what not, cause honestly there are a lot of dope drops that have come after, but the part that bothers me is seeing all the cornballs jumping on hopefully we keep getting dope kicks
I need to finally wear my smoke greys. I’ve never taken them out of the box and have never seen a pair in the wild but like them in that pic.
Not even i can defend Nike for this one. This is shitty. https://solecollector.com/news/2020/10/nike-ends-partnership-with-franks-sport-shop
So they're going to move away from limited release sneakers and impossible to get collabs? That seems like the next step, then regional chains and finally cutting back on national chains. Just because some dork tried to point out cost savings by shipping to fewer stores. Ok what they on their website is kind of funny to think that those jerseys are collecting dust there https://www.frankssports.com/Search.aspx?m=8&s=FTS.RANK+DESC&ps=12&p=1 But they definitely have more in the store, seems like it's mostly baseball/soccer cleats and Converses
Na I don't see them going away from limited releases anytime soon. They tried that in the mid 2010's and they became not cool real quick. I think this has more to do with money. If they sell a pair to Frank's, they sell it to them at 50% retail. So that $200 pair only made them $100. If they sell it directly to you, they get all $200. Sure they have to process way more orders but they are making double the revenue so its worth it. Direct to consumer is just more profitable. With so much business being done online now, there's no reason to have that middle man getting a cut of the sales.
Right, from what I could see online it looks like they mostly just carry cleats and then some Converse sneakers. Ok and some NFL jerseys online. They should set something up for smaller accounts like that. I'm sure some places use a corporate account to simply other releases to resell at above retail, but they don't strike me as the kind to do that.
lolll @ the marketing bullshit jargon in that explanation "It's actually considerably more profitable for us if we make this change and us is what we care about"
Right, Nike is just cutting all of those guys out. I get it from a business perspective but it sucks for small business.
It's Nike, they could survive without all that extra profit. Just do the right thing and continue your 100 year old relationships.
Weird request, but can I borrow your code? I don't want to use it but there's a few pairs I want to order and idk if I can use codes on them or not. The ebay codes are only good for a week so I'd like to cart some pairs and input your code to see if they are eligible for codes before I buy one.
keeps saying the seller can’t accept payments right now or some shit. but thank u anyway. That’s good idea
meant to mention this here earlier...completely miffed on a StockX move. I had the highest bid for the Ultra Boost Multi 2.0s at $177. The lowest ask was like $260 or something. Someone outbid me to $178 and they insta sold. This happen to anyone else? It makes no sense for the seller, at all.
Could have been a pair they forgot they were selling, got the notification of new high offer, and took it. That's all I can think of.
haha holy fuck they are up to $46k with 11 days left https://www.artsy.net/artwork/sacai-kaws-customized-nike-x-sacai-white-ldwaffle-sneaker-spring-2020
These options went live around noon. I ordered these 3. I couldn't pass up making the AM1 colorways on an AF1. Going to play around tonight and try to make a couple original designs. The options are pretty damn solid imo.
