What happened on BB 30 mins ago to cause a 10% jump? My 1 call is happy about it but I have no idea why it happened
trading for GME was halted, so the retards moved their money to BB Clarification: I'm one of those retards
I stupidly bought a YOLO put on GME earlier this week. We all know how that went, so this morning I joined the retards on a BB call, about an hr before the chart Went vertical. Im a stock wizard now guys, AMA
All of this is in my Roth. I didn’t go heavy only about 3k. Up 12% on the day with Blackberry added in
Basically there are massive short positions started at pretty low prices, then a combo of some good news and opportunistic investing drove the price up and it’s a big game of chicken between the shorts and long. Brokers hiked up the fees on it which has pushed the issue and creating the squeeze we are seeing. It’s probable that it keeps going up as people’s limit sell orders get cleared.
Casual 5k week - my best yet. Monday is the day I start moving cash into the roth and buying long holds there.
Sitting outside nodding my head as I see Intel at -9% on the day. Decide to type GME in for shits and giggles. +45% Just start laughing out loud. Looking at some of the option strikes above 50, there were some 135-850x plays in there purely from buying at today's open. The highest OI strike was the $50 by about 10,000 contracts. That one is still sitting at about a 50-bagger right now. Just think about the WSBers that sold their contracts for .02-.20 a contract this morning... I will also add, with about 90 minutes until close, it will be interesting to see if this thing sells off to that $50 strike.
I bought into GME at $40. What a ride. At this point I almost dont even care about the gains. It's just exciting watching a bunch of uneducated, non-sophisticated buyers come together and bully the institutional buyers.
Is Amazon turning a profit yet? I remember all kinds of people saying that company doesn't make a dime no way it lasts.
But profitability aside, the logic of Amazon's value at least makes sense. They do and sell nearly everything. They're a worldwide retail super power. GameStop has an antiquated business model and no clear path to sustainability in the future. They're literally Blockbuster.
Just gonna call it now...watch for ATVI to be the next "gamer" stock to get squeezed. All those Cawl of Doody and WoW players will have a revelation over this Gamestop move.
No, it will happen after this GME stuff dies down. They will have to move on to the next mark after that.
Check my post a few pages back from November. They made a pivot into EV and cyber security. Their CEO has a bit of a reputation as well. This move has been building for a while.
I remembered the discussion about it, right after that post...but didn't remember the details. Guess I'll grab a couple Feb calls and join in.
apparently it is the software behind Appleplay and google play in every car also the platform that all the EVs other than Tesla are using moving forward. Apparently Tesla is trying to use Linux to build its self driving system on and because Linux is open source the US will not grant it permission to be used. Linux can be ported to the BB software so Tesla may have to switch to them
The security of their cell phones is why all the companies used their phones. Now it looks like that tech is what is going to be used in the EV self driving market.
Also they have a partnership with Amazon for software that takes data from the sensors in cars and reports it back in Realtime to the OEMs and insurance Cos can tap into it somehow as well. Amazon is pushing this and they are the tech behind it.
They have run up quite a bit lately...usually you would like to see it consolidate for a bit before the next run up, but whoTF knows after seeing GME's power today.
It has been running then dipping. I have stops in that i keep moving up. Today i dove in pretty hard because it had pulled back about 10% from its high a day or two prior and it paid. Probably going to take profits on Monday. I try not to buy and sell the same day.
I'm looking at long-term holds for this one. I'll do some research over the weekend but if they've got as many hands in major tech movers as you say, they should have a pretty clear path for larger moves up.
