That dude cranks out those podcasts. That's too much coach d for me[/QUOTE] It’s a lot but I always have a pod on in the background at work so I welcome him putting stuff out daily.
I don’t think there is one person on this earth that likes hearing himself talk more than Bryan Driskell
could you imagine that dude coked out, just talking 3,000 mph about his disappointment in kelly and nodding
This sucks for this guy, but I really do wonder how many ND beat writers we really need. would anything be any different if everyone but 1 got laid off?
How would I be able to know Prister played baseball at ND and that his son also went to ND if he was no longer saying that in every article that had nothing to do with the subject matter at hand?
took the words right out of my mouth, and beat writers is one thing but one recruiting guy per site is a little much. They all repeat the same stuff anyway
how would we know that Mike Frank doesn’t know the answer to that question if he never got asked the question?
He had like 2 connections and just repeated stuff he read on pay sites. I hate that he lost his job but he’s expendable.
Hadven't seen JOK ranked this high yet, dude's stock just keeps rising. https://nfldraft.theringer.com/
He’s a guy that’s going to depend on team position in the draft. All it takes is one team to love you who has a system you’d fit in. But there could also be huge stretches in the draft where one of those types of teams isn’t picking. Lot of variability in where he could go in terms of pick number.
The graphic and website design on that is really cool. I don't know about evaluation accuracy but that is one beautiful mock draft.
Sinclair's recruiting article Spoiler My last two Crystal Ball Predictions were in favor of Notre Dame landing Joshua Burnham and DJ Wesolak. I’m confident in both picks. Clearly, there would be multiple additions on top of Burnham and Wesolak to round out the front-seven class of 2022. But looking at the body types of this hypothetical early group really jumped out at me. DE Tyson Ford – 6-5, 245 DE DJ Wesolak – 6-6, 230 DE Aiden Gobaira – 6-6, 235 LB Nolan Ziegler – 6-4, 210 LB Joshua Burnham – 6-4, 215 Burnham churned out 1,953 yards and 30 touchdowns in total as a junior dual-threat quarterback and occasional wide receiver. Ziegler torched the Frankenmuth defense for two touchdowns receptions on verticals in Catholic Central’s state championship win. And whenever I check in on any of Wesolak’s basketball games, it seems he always tops 20 points. And both Gobaira and Ziegler are dominant lacrosse stars. Height, length, and size. This group is about as appealing as it gets from a body type perspective. But compounding their physical advantages is the exceptional athleticism among this group. It seems Marcus Freeman’s debut defensive class is going to make a significant impact to Notre Dame’s front seven. In concert with Mike Elston and the rest of the coaching staff, Irish fans should expect a dynamic group up front on defense. WIDE RECEIVER (Photo: 247Sports) You all know about Kaden Saunders, Kaleb Brown, and other high-ranked speedsters in the 2022 class. But at the wide receiver position, I believe Notre Dame has done an excellent job of locating and pursuing lesser-ranked pass-catchers with dynamic playmaking ability. I’ve watched game film and done my homework on three specific receivers ranked considerably lower than the household names. And I consider these three to be potential impact players on the Power Five stage. Xayvion Bradshaw: Have you seen this new prospect? If not, click here for his sophomore highlights. Bradshaw’s shortened season in Virginia has only just begun. But looking at his Underclassman footage, he has all the ultra-shifty, explosive, make-you-miss skills that Notre Dame could use to get more dynamic on the perimeter. From bubble screens to verticals to crossing routes, this 6-foot speedster has outstanding burst and a whole lot of wiggle. How he has only six Power Five offers is beyond my comprehension. This was a smart offer from the Irish. Addison Copeland: Competing in Buffalo, New York, this three-star recruit plays some of the least competitive football among all the 2022 prospects on the board. But when it comes to his potential to beat defensive backs with breakneck speed on double-moves, and when he accelerates on vertical routes, who cares how many ranked recruits he competes against? At this position, it’s about speed and creating space between you and your opponent. And few have the jets I’ve seen in Copeland. Now, he’s quite raw. But he’s also a natural in how he catches the football in stride, how he plucks off-target throws out of the air seamlessly, and how he shakes defenders in space. If the Irish add him to the class, I can almost guarantee he’ll be my “Sleeper” pick in our 2022 National Signing Day Superlatives feature. Amorion Walker: As you know, I speak with prep coaches constantly. And I often connect with veteran head coaches from areas that produce loads of Power Five football players. And Hank Tierney fits that box. He’s been a head coach in the New Orleans area in the top division in Louisiana for over two decades. In fact, he was Terry Joseph’s coach. The point is this – I trust his judgment. And coach Tierney made clear that Amorion Walker missed nearly all of his junior season to injury, and as a result, his stock suffered. However, he also made clear that Walker is one of the fastest athletes he’s ever coached. And he said that he’s actually 6-foot-4 and not his listed 6-3. (This is a coach who has been around A LOT of speed). According to his head coach, Walker posted a verified 4.56 as a sophomore and is very likely sub-4.5 guy today. He also contacted Notre Dame as he felt Walker was a perfect fit for the Irish – he went out of his way to make that connection. A 6-foot-4 receiver from the New Orleans area with low-4.5 to sub-4.5 speed? I’m looking forward to seeing more from Walker. TIGHT END (Photo: 247Sports) Just over a year ago, I connected with Holden Staes briefly, and then I called former pro receiver Terrence Edwards (his trainer) to learn more about the Atlanta sophomore. It was made clear that Staes – who had camped at Notre Dame that previous summer – was a high-end student with significant pass-catching skills and an ideal frame. Now a four-star tight end targeted by the Irish, Staes joins Eli Raridon in Notre Dame’s hunt to round out its tight end class. ? What I like about Raridon is that he does everything well. He’s a solid route runner, he has good speed, I like his technique and footwork as a blocker, and he shows solid pass-catching skills. In Staes, I see a tight end with what could develop into exceptional receiving ability, and a frame to build into an imposing mismatch in the passing game. Staes is much more of a receiver than a tight end in a literal sense – he lines up in the slot or out wide on most snaps. But he’s a compelling prospect nonetheless. I believe either tight end would make Notre Dame better on offense. Absolutely. But in my opinion, I feel like Staes has more value in this case. Notre Dame has a solid tight end commit in Jack Nickel. He’s brilliant when it comes to the game – a highly-knowledgeable football player – and he’s a true traditional tight end who can split out to run routes or line up inline as an extension of the offensive line. (He won multiple First-Team All-State nominations at his position). With that, Staes seems like the ideal and logical addition in a two-tight end class given his skills specific to a flex-tight end role. I believe these two Atlanta tight ends would make a complementary tandem. Again, Raridon would be a great pickup too. I want to make that clear – he’s loaded with potential. But I agree with the 247Sports rankings in that Staes is a four-star recruit while Raridon is a high-three-star recruit, and what that suggests. QUARTERBACK (Photo: 247Sports) I’ve spoken with all three Notre Dame quarterback recruits in Steve Angeli, Gavin Wimsatt, and Drew Allar. And I’ve had full discussions with the head coaches of all three. I’ve spoken with QB trainers, teammates, and I’ve pored over both highlights and game film of all three. Right now, I feel like Allar would be the best addition. 2COMMENTS This young passer advanced his game considerably over the last off-season. At 6-foot-5 and 236 pounds, he reworked his throwing mechanics, tweaking his arm motion, and learned to snap his hips and use his legs to generate more power and control. And it showed through the fall. In a five-wide offense, his head coach gave him the keys to the offense. This meant calling the plays in games and running the offense in practice. And in watching his game film, often you find Allar delivering strikes to his third and fourth read. And quite honestly, many high school quarterback don’t make it past their first or second look. I’m very interested to see how this position develops in the coming weeks. But I wouldn’t be surprised if Allar ended up Irish. he's basically penciled in Wesolak and Burnham into the class and he does not make CB's lightly like Loy does...would be two massive pickups, basically two top 100 players even though Wesolak is not rated that way (but he should be) Loy said that Wesolak and Ford are trying to drive up to ND together soon. If that happens, he thinks Wesolak will commit soon Also, Prister let out that Burnham made a visit to ND recently for a self guided tour that was supposed to be kept hush hush
Loy just posted this on Wesolak: I still believe he will visit ND with Tyson Ford after his basketball season ends and potentially commit shortly thereafter.
Ooo boy at this potential DL group Tyson Ford 6'5 245lbs SDE https://247sports.com/player/tyson-ford-46097287/ Aiden Gobaira 6'6 235lbs WDE https://247sports.com/player/aiden-gobaira-46101122/ DJ Wesolak 6''6 230 DE (can play both) Any 2 Donovan Hinish 6'2 270lbs DT https://247sports.com/player/donovan-hinish-46110576/ Anthony Lucas 6'5 280lbs DT Kaleb Artis 6'5 270lbs DT Just take em Tevarua Tafiti 6'3 225lb Hybrid Would be absolutely unreal
that's championship level recruiting at Dline and i think we might land the best LB class in the nation this year as well
I wonder if/when teams will start negative recruiting Marcus Freeman and saying he's going to be a Power 5 head coach by the time you're a sophomore, who knows how you're going to fit into the new guy's system, you're going into an unstable situation, etc. etc. And how ND will counter that. Or if teams don't do that because its just understood any coaching staff can change on a dime and it opens themselves up.
Just listened to a Driskell podcast, yeah I know...but he was talking about a guy named moss as a good drop end prospect. Is he not part of the mix as well?
Moss is a freak athletically but i just don't see the violence in his game like I do with Wesolak/Gobaira/Ford/Teva and that scares me a little...I want athletic kids who want to hit you and let you know about it i'm in the minority here but i'd rate it this way - Wesolak>Teva>Moss but i'll take any 2 of those 3 that want to commit first
Kevin Winston - would LOVE this pickup as our first safety Spoiler Notre Dame is looking to continue to build on an already-strong start to its class of 2022. There are plenty of top targets still in play for the Fighting Irish. Irish Illustrated has the latest on another prospect to know for Notre Dame. I’ve been thinking about a new 247Sports Crystal Ball prediction in the secondary and one could go in by day’s end. The Fighting Irish look to be a major player for Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha Catholic three-star safety Kevin Winston and Notre Dame seems to be trending in the right direction. The 6-2, 190-pounder from the class of 2022 was first offered by the Irish on Jan. 20. While others like him on offense, Notre Dame sees an absolute difference-maker at the safety position. While his ranking may not suggest it, there are very few players on the defensive side of the ball more coveted by the Notre Dame coaching staff. On Wednesday, defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman and safeties coach Chris O’Leary are expected to have another Zoom call with Winston, as he continues to better that relationship. In addition, they will layout exactly what they see for him in the secondary in Freeman’s system. It also wouldn’t be all that shocking to see them push for him to shut things down in the near future, as the staff is doing all it can to lock him in and get him on board. In addition to Notre Dame, Winston has plenty of offers from across the country. Oklahoma, Boston College, Cincinnati, Colorado, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and many others are pushing to land him. Irish Illustrated’s Kevin Sinclair spoke with Winston after the offer was extended and it was clear then that Notre Dame was going to be a big player in this race. 22COMMENTS “Oh yeah, that’s a really good guy,” said Winston of Freeman. “He was telling me some real stuff, was telling me that a lot of these kids, when they’re deciding where to go to school, they make a decision for the next four years of their life instead of making a decision that will help them for the rest of their life. He was saying Notre Dame is a place that will make sure you’re set for the rest of your life, and not just for football.” The 247Sports Composite Rankings list Winston as the No. 66-athlete overall due to his position flexibility and No. 20 prospect in the state of Maryland from the 2022 class.
Singer has a CB pick for Gould and Nikai Martinez to ND...that's a homerun for ND if they land that tandem
also would be perfectly find moving Gould to safety with Winston and pairing Nikai with Jyaire Brown (current OSU commit) that would be the best DB class we have had in a VERY long time
Allar would be a pretty big whiff, but I don't know why he wouldn't at least do a few spring/summer visits. Didn't all these teams offer knowing he has a spot held for them?
Going to be a sad scene when Allar goes to PSU to be the second QB in their class Waited too long Tommy smh
"In an epic surge highlighted by incredible effort from head coach Brian Kelly, it appears that the Irish will finish a very close second to the Nittany Lions on this one. Just incredible amount of effort was shown by Kelly, who we have heard delayed a family dinner 15 minutes to take a call from Allar's coach and had to take a Zoom call from his basement because the housekeeper was cleaning his office. A real, monumental change has occurred in Kelly - the head coach and head recruiter of the Irish - and it was almost close enough to bear fruit here." -Pete Sampson in 3 weeks
I will wait to see what QB ND ends up with in the 2022 QB class. I'd be perfectly happy with either Allar or Wimsatt
Been working, but I did see that they were playing and never once did I think about turning it on. What a sad end to the Brey run.
Seems like a nice guy with a bit of a booze enthusiasm. Thanks for the elite 8 run while I was there that was fun.
Who is up and coming that we might take a look at? it sucks for BC that we're opening up the same season
