I googled too, I'd read thru this and maybe you can tackle it on a weekend or after work https://www.f150forum.com/f118/no-heat-passenger-side-cab-2015-lariat-432114/
Thoughts close to pulling the trigger https://www.phillipscjdr.com/inventory/new-2020-ram-1500-laramie-4x4-crew-cab-1c6srfjt1ln417295
Had mine for two months and absolutely love it. You’ll enjoy it. Do you plan on towing much? If so, the only issue I see is this doesn’t have the 3.92 rear axle ratio, which is much better for towing heavy loads. Just keep that in mind if you plan on pulling a camper, boat, etc for a significant amount of time. I’ve got the 3.92 but honestly never tow, so I probably would’ve been fine with the 3.21. Plus it gets better gas mileage.
I don't plan on towing anything in the near future. I kayak fish and the only time I would tow is moving something every now and then.
Joystick Izzy have you heard any issues with the leather giving off a off smell and in aid the ram limiteds?
I've got a laramie, not a limited, but no issue with any leather smell so far, and hadn't heard of any complaint either. I'm not sure if "and in aid" is a typo, so not sure what you were asking with that part.
I thought it smelled like a smokers truck. The truck was absolutely flawless in the inside. Someone said the newer leather in the limited can sometimes give off a odor but I swear it smelled smoke.
Have located possible second truck. 03 F250, 7.3l, 4x4, Suicide door cab layout, with a 6 speed! 125k miles. I'd think it was a scam but the dude is awfully forthcoming. Body isn't in great shape, rust on rocker panels and rear wheel wells. Cruise doesn’t work. Dude is asking $8500. Hoping to go see it Saturday. Probably offer him $7500. I could legit use the diesel for hauling occasionally, and I'd love to own a manual again.
Not all 2003 models had the 7.3 so I’d be sure to check it out. Some had the 6.0 Shit, if it checks out with so few miles I wouldn’t hesitate to pay the asking, that’s not a bad price.
I didn't know that, but am pretty sure this is the old international. I'll damn sure check now. I think the market for that motor is inflated, but again this would be a second truck, so maybe I'm just being cheap. We'll see if I fall in love with it in person.
Didn't know this was a thing but I should have gotten my nitto ridge grapplers wider. Truck drives much worse on the interstate now. I mostly drive around town in a small town so it hasn't been a huge deal yet. But when you're on the interstate it will pull left or right on you, feels like when a strong wind pushes your vehicle a bit while driving. The good news is I don't spin out when the road is wet and don't get stuck in gravel etc like I used to with my old shitty tires.
Totally using this commercial as a reason to get a new truck "See, hon! I can totally build you a log cabin with it!"
Bullet is the best product I'm aware of, but may be hard to find a location in some areas. If you can't find one, do Line-X. Line-X has been the standard for a long time. Bullet is a newer product, is (in my opinion) better, and costs less due to the fact that they don't have a franchise structure like Line-X does.
A guy I work with had his entire Toyota FJ coated with Line-X material. He's an asshat as you can imagine.
449 for bullet and 549 for premium linex. Not sure I want to drive to poduct patlatka for 100 dollars
Bought a 21 Tacoma Trd sport last month. This is going to hold me over until the new Tundras and electric F150s/Silverados are out.
What are you looking to do? I had a Rhino racks professionally installed on my 2018, and have been very happy. I haul kayaks.
My FIL has one. He's taken it to Colorado and Big Bend and seems to love it. If your standard full-size truck is an NBA center, that this is Manute Bol.
Nothing too fancy. I'm leaning towards the OEM ones and having the dealer install them when I get my next service done. Keeping my options open.
Just drove my new '21 3/4 ton 4x4 Silverado home Now I just gotta get it set up and all my shit into it
Truck was in the shop for some fender bender shit that happened last year because some dumb blonde blew a stop sign... get my truck back and the ac compressor goes. Truck starts overheating. The shop is changing out the thermostat water pump and ac compressor. Fun.
So I'm thinking about upgrading. Currently have a 2016 Tacoma 2WD. I need a 4WD for hauling my boat and for when I get myself into sticky situations I frequently find myself in (getting stuck in mud near boat launches boat launches etc). I don't want to spend $50k+. I'm thinking a Tundra 4WD is my best bet. I think you can get a new one in the 45k range. Thoughts?
Used trucks probably aren't going to be much cheaper, if at all, than new trucks if you can find a new one. Used trucks are insanely expensive right now.
$45k would get me a 2018 F-150 that is similar in options to a new Tundra. I.e. a Lariat or King Ranch. So I'm paying , what is in my opinion a good bit of money, for an already aging truck. New trucks are just too damn expensive these days.
You can find Rams in normal times for dirt ass cheap new. I've had one for 5 years and love it, especially if you're cost conscious. I'd prob wait 6 months to a year to buy any vehicle if you can, though, if cost is a consideration. Let supply catch back up.
