Idk, sounds cool. Maybe team registration size needs to expand, maybe teams need to utilize more u21 players across competitions to combat congestion and fatigue, wouldn’t be the worst thing. NFL expanding to 17, CL to 10+ before the knockout phase, it’s all a trend.
Certainly. And the sport has some of the shortest off seasons. Teams will have to dig deeper into their rosters/academies.
the silver lining is that expanding to 36 will give some smaller clubs like Getafe, Malmo, Arsenal etc a chance to compete
this 2-3 year period with the condensed schedules and Euros this summer rolling right into a winter World Cup is going to shorten careers. just shows the clubs don't give a shit even about their best players. they're all just replaceable assets.
right, but I already assumed those other groups don't care. the clubs are the ones actually paying these guys so you'd think they'd want to protect them somewhat.
I am surprised the clubs don’t lean on the other groups more to protect their assets like they do with the CL changes. Guess player value/risk is small change compared to added revenue of competition changes
many seem to be run by dipshits with MBAs who use terms like dynamic capabilities and human capital unironically so
I think most countries have to absorb the wages if a player gets injured for them. England is paying for Joe Gomez. It may just be England that does it, though.
So Ramos out, Verratti out, Lewa out, now Sancho likely to miss 1st leg due to injury. Any other new big ones? Kanté and Pulisic doubtful
because that’s how long it takes him to get hurt. dude has hurt himself in warmups twice this season.
I doubt it since he was a starter and then got hurt. Got healthy and had a good run through the festive season and got hurt again. Play him, and people say you’re risking his glassy soft tissues. Bench him and people say you’re risking him by not being match fit. He got hurt jogging to a cone yesterday at halftime.
CBS Sports Network is showing the Liverpool / Real Madrid match this week. I had thought all of the UCL matches up to the final were scheduled for Paramount+, and I’m very pleased that’s not the case.
is there anything more reliable than soccer being poorly administered literally everywhere how is a game so popular so fucking consistently mismanaged
the only thing missing is a high profile racial incident in one of the matches that they could take a tough stance on
That said it’s these sorts of stories that make it so endearing to follow. So many people should be in prison.
good news guys p+ finally decided to accept my free sub through 247 so I don't have to be part of the (rightfully) complaining masses anymore
go to settings on 247 and there's a link to activate your p+ sub, for whatever reason it had never worked for me but recently I got a notification telling me to do so again and it worked this time
If not for the pandemic leading to no fans would Madrid still be renovating the Bernabeu right now or would it have been moved to the offseasons?
