quick twitter search and people are just asking him to take the Kansas job and there's 'smoke' from non-blue-checkmarks.
I get that it could be his dream job since he is a Kansas native but KU is gonna be a tough job. He has made some good moves at UCF and can have success. Leaving UCF and going to a dumpster fire because he is a KU fan would be a Frost level mistake.
Lol wow. As long as Gus stays I'm good, that was a good hire imo. Not sure who would be next on the list tho
Yea this would put us at like 8 or 9 million in buyouts this year. That’s more than we get from our shitty tv contract.
Brian White from FAU makes more sense to me for the KU job. He can be like his brother and leave for a train wreck P5.
has the alum-going-home coach or AD had recent success? I know Spurrier but that was a long time ago now. Trying to think of a recent success.
Is it a tough job though? There is no expectation for football and you can not possibly fuck up a coaching hire worse then they have the last 15 years. You’ll never have to hire a basketball coach.
We got a conference title out of it before Blankenship ran out of Graham players. You guys probably remember
Frost is getting destroyed for this on Twitter. Can't imagine it is only his doing, but still, hard not to find a little bit of humor in the mess he finds himself in out there. We all saw it coming
It's because he said they'd play anyone anytime anywhere back when the B1G was refusing to play at all during the pandemic. That said, why are they cancelling? Just to avoid the bashing?
Yep, I get that. It can't be just to avoid the beating, they have played Top 5 schools each year out there, that's why I'm saying it can't be just his call, bad optics though. That said, I don't know why else they would be trying to drop a game 6 months ahead of time
Frost hated scheduling any tough games while he was here. He wants easy wins always it looks like. They need him to qualify for a bowl badly this year. That seat could get really hot.
And apparently we just got some transfer RB from Northwestern? Had a good freshman year but lost a bunch of carries after that. Weird to grab two transfer RB when that was the one position I liked our depth.
Yeah don't think we need to grab any new RBs in the portal. One position with a ton of talent and depth.
I always find it funny during this time of year that even with all the technology that could be implemented for timing a runner we still just go with the “fat guy with a stop watch” method
I like it better the fact we do all of this when you can also watch game tape to see how fast a guy runs in an actual football game with football pads and making football moves. This is all so pointless. Im connived the only person who actually uses this info for anything useful is the guy who does Madden ratings
Brugler Draft Guide out on The Athletic. Its like 250 pages. Here is where he rates UCF guys Otis - #31 RB, undrafted McCrae - #33 RB, undrafted Tre Nixon - #45 WR, 7th-udfa Marlon Williams - #52 WR, UDFA Jacob Harris - #7 TE, 5th round Aaron Robinson - #11 CB, 2nd-3rd round #61 Overall Tay Gowan - #43 CB, UDFA Richie Grant - #1 S, 2nd round #40 Overall
Damn, feel like I have seen Gowan as high as a 2nd or 3rd. Edit: PFF has him as the 9th best CB, 2 spots behind Arob. They have Grant as the 4th ranked S.
This is more of his grade than a projection. But yeah Gowan has basically played 1 real year of football in the last few so he is going to go very high. He is the poster child for paying players so they don't have to leave early.
Gowan not playing last season was allegedly because of his daughter and that he supposedly got some of his family members sick while he was playing. Whether he's being honest or has cooked up the story to sound better in interviews, I don't know. Either way, he's the biggest wild card here. He has the tools of a good CB and could be a mid round guy or just not even drafted because of how risky a pick it is. If I were an NFL team, I would definitely go with someone like him in the 5-7th round. It's rare you find guys worth a crap that late anyway, so why not take a flier on someone. Marlon really screwed himself with his Pro Day performance. He was slow, not that explosive, and not very impressive.
