that’s the thing I thought (and maybe I’m wrong) but I was under the impression that electronic was arguing that they should be given grace and empathy for those things (wheelchair and looks). That’s where I disagree. In general I don’t think people should be mocked for innate characteristics but that flies out window when that person is a White supremacist. I think you shouldn't make fun of someone being in a wheelchair and I think most in this thread know that to be true despite being dug in for one reason or another in this instance
His point was that jokes about being in wheelchairs and a woman being ugly are bad jokes, even if the target deserves to be mocked, because those types of jokes are hurtful to people who aren’t those deserving targets. Like racist “jokes,” ableist and misogynistic jokes are bad even if the person they target is individually deserving of being hurt.
