When 2020s came out last year I was tempted to buy into a bit break. I watched a few breaks of it and they are pretty sweet.
Yeah I watched 8 breaks last night of the 2020 cases and they are amazing. Apparently the "live experience" is a ticket to Wrestlemania
I will put Fresh Pullz on in the background sometimes because they freak out on big hits and it cracks me up. Plus they're just some Boston meatheads who don't know any better. Buff is my favorite I think.
The 2020 breaks I watched last night only had Hulk Hogan auto's from the superstars of the 80s/90s They also had Stone Cold. I would guess this year will be The Rock and Rick Flair given they are the specials. Vince McMahon and Steph were also part of the 2020 crew. I didn't see any other 80's or 90's stars part of the 2020 collection. They did have a couple Mick Foley and Undertaker auto's.
I think I'm going to start scanning my in person autos to keep on file, scrubs and all. Yay or nah on posting photos?
Undertaker, Rock etc are all too new for me, I don't remember those guys. I was more Snake, Steamboat, Randy etc.
my nephew went to a Rangers game with a base Mike Trout card hoping to get him to sign it during batting practice. Not only did he sign that, he signed his batting gloves and gave them to him and put him on his shoulders and took a picture with him.
When I start shoving these down all of your throats you're going to be able to identify any Mariners auto on anything. As we speak they are currently being no-hit yet again.
Stopped at 100 scanned pages, I think that's enough for one night. You guys are fucked. Edit: Very convenient Imgur is down right now.
Imgur almost didn't come back up before bed. That 1988 Topps Keith Comstock card has an error variant with white text on Padres. For whatever reason Keith absolutely refuses to sign these 1988 Topps error cards, he'll only sign the blue text Padres cards. When you ask him why he will just ignore you.
Questions like this make me realize how old I am. We didn’t have these new fangled autograph inserts in the heyday of card collecting.
Explain the Loupe app to me. So I watch streamers then buy the cards they pull? I’m not buying a random team or picking my own team for the break?
These are all vetted breakers who basically have online card shops via a stream. Purchases on iPhone run through apple pay(Not sure how it works with android, but they have it now), you pick what you want to buy, watch them rip it, and then they will ship it. Some do group box breaks, some do individual box breaks, some do packs. It's a great way to get product if you don't have a good LCS. Yes, and yes IMO. I have bought from multiple breakers and had zero issues.
Maybe I’m missing something but what is the point of them opening it for you and sending you the cards? Why not just send the full case/box/pack?
I’ve done these rip and ships before, but these guy are literally charging almost double for some products that you can get off eBay. Like select football blasters for $130???? I just bought 2 off of eBay for $75 each
Not saying it makes sense, but the $130 includes all ship/fees/supplies, and their time. I honestly don't have problems with an occasional overpay for a product I can't find, considering all the entertainment I get watching what they rip
I get the over pay, but that’s outrageous. I’ll buy blasters and rip them live to you for $110 a piece. I would trust this app over the Facebook guys who do it though.
I honestly don't buy a whole lot from them. If I do it's packs of stuff I can't find, but want to live a little(F1 and 20 Bowman Draft, for example). I don't see any sense in paying over $100 for blasters, personally, as I rarely have great luck.
Packs of cards were 30 cents when I was a kid. You could buy a box (36 packs) of Topps for under $10 at Costco.
I thought Mark Lewis was going to be good, him and Steve Avery in those '89 Topps packs. I convinced myself it was to be, so much so that if I pulled either card from a pack of '89 Topps today I'd probably still get goosebumps.
If you guys don't start talkin' I'm gonna start posting, and we all know nothing good comes from me posting.
I have one of those '89 Topps Signatures Archives around here somewhere. I was pretty pumped when I saw that was available, he has a nice auto, I would have paid whatever it took to acquire.
I use to love getting rookie autographs, the unknown was intriguing. A lot of those guys were hyped like what you see today, yet so few ever make it. It's why I don't understand prospecting and rookie chasing, especially in todays market. People are paying insane amounts for rookies that haven't accomplished dick, yet they're paying Mike Trout prices for it. I just don't see the upside in paying like they're a HOF lock. Your kids are probably using Todd Van Poppel and Brien Taylor rookie cards on their bike, which is fine because that's about the most value you're going to get out of either one.
He was the best of the three young Braves until he got injured. Kind of surprised there's no Oddibe McDowell in the autos.
Don't give up yet, there's well over 1,000 autos of scrubs in binders. Too many for me to remember them all.
Oh shit, I forgot about the 1984 Darryl Strawberry bat. Hhhmmm... now I'm not sure. Probably still the Gant. You guys gotta be sitting on some stuff besides cards.
