Andy Reocho check discord. A soccer chronicles break is happening. Figured you may want to roll the dice and take a slot
i think i've posted this before but i finally had a chance to look at the collection we have of 86/87 NBA fleer cards. and it looks like we have the 87/88 ones, too. unfortunately, the best cards were kept on display for years in an office and they're now quite sun faded. many others - including each of the 11 stickers from the 86/87 case plus everything from 87/88 - was kept sealed in a cardboard box in plastic containers. thoughts on next steps here and anyone want to approximate value? i think when I had asked before and was told to sell the big ones individually rather than the entire collection. is that still the best thing to do? would i need to get each of these rated or just the more valuable ones? and is there any value in a faded card at all? the jordan one seems like it's in great condition (edges, centered) outside of the fading. i plan to take inventory plus take good photos of the collection in the coming weeks. but here are some quick ones of what i presume are the most valuable cards: Spoiler
If you don’t pay to get them graded they won’t be worth much, especially with the fading. Just taking a stab at what that grade would be but I’m thinking something that faded would likely be a psa 3 or 4. Probably still worth grading but right now that’s $300 a pop per card for psa and I’d probably only do the Jordan regular at this time. I’d be interested in making an offer on some of them, also looking for a Hakeem if you have one pm me
Got my target order of 2 contenders draft blasters. In two blasters of a "Draft" product, only had 4 rookies. It's loaded with veterans in college jerseys FYI for those who haven't got it yet. My autos were a 7th rd pick and a guy who hasn't even got a udfa contract. Steer clear
Finished a 3 card set today, that's how pathetic things are over here. And I'm not even sure it's complete since Topps decided not to mention anything about it or add a checklist when the packs were released (2020).
What am I looking at? Is it numbered? Autographed on the back? I don't see a RC designation. Did I just like a 2nd year base card?
Those Disco prizm look nice. Got two boxes of H2 prizm draft this weekend for Father's day, pulled 2 Lawrence Disco prizm. I posted it in the discord, but figured I'd throw it here too. Also a Disco /25 Josh Palmer auto Also /20 Julio, /50 Friermuth, a red Disco Pitts and an Eskridge disco auto redemption
The name fits, they certainly have a disco feel to them. I should put a disco ball in the masturbation room, spice things up.
I actually think panini official name for them is circles prizm but people call them Disco because the look of them
From a prestige or value perspective I have no idea what to think. From a “god damn this card is nice to look at” perspective it’s top tier
Jose Canseco autographs will always excite me. Just picked one up needed for a set. COMC so I'll see it in about two months.
Same. I was going to flip the three that I got in. That would’ve been the better option by far. All three autos are from udfa.
Friends don't let friends open anything Panini 'draft'. I don't care how desperate you are to rip something, don't do it.

Packman and packer cards are fun to watch on YouTube. They both do random hobby packs openings and I enjoy the fuck outta those
Really thought I was going to skip 2021 Bowman, and my goodness I'm glad I didn't, especially the blasters. I've opened 6 blasters so far and I pulled a Blaze auto, an Acosta auto and now
After a month or so(?) of the blasters being out, the $25 price chance makes sense and is justified. They put non sticker chrome autos in them, and made them as good as megas Still don’t think the $300 price tag for 1 auto was worth it for the checklist.
I've been lucky with the autos I've gotten, but I've pulled 4 autos in 6 blasters. Not sure why you'd buy hobby with hit rates like that in blaster. Guess maybe if you're chasing color autos
I got 4 more blasters unopened. Debated leaving them sealed now I've pulled 3 best autos in the first 6 I opened. But my wife messaged me she wants to open last 4 when she gets off work at 4. She got into opening packs with me last year but stopped when football season came around because she hated Vick had cards in the boxes. She loves Bowman cards and topps chrome so she wants to open these ones. Maybe I'll pull another good auto
I pulled literally 4 Joe Palumbo autos out of different hobby boxes last year. I deserve some auto luck lol
which is better? blasters or mega boxes? i've got two megas and two blasters of which i'm selling two to my old boss. which is best?
Well I may have gotten extremely lucky with 4 autos in first 6 blasters, because we just opened the last 4 and 0 autos and only 3 color in the 4 boxes. So maybe I just had extremely good luck with blasters and bad with mega
You were 100% extremely lucky. There was never any other reason/explanation. Bowman blasters are still blasters, you just found a great batch.
I've watched a couple breaks with blasters and it seemed a high hit rate on autos. Knew I was lucky in autos I got but thought they upped the hit rate a little. Maybe I was lucky early on, 4/10 seems about right what they were last year, which is what I'm at now
My brother lives in the area and collects, and there’s one Walmart down the street from our parents who apparently keep it behind customer service, and have limits.
