I always liked Willian as a player, seemed a nice guy, was good and not a cunt. I didn't hate him coming in. That said we were brutal to watch last season so I can't fault a fan of another team to have watched. I'm honestly not sure he put in one solid performance last year. I don't think he was as brutal as the narrative, but he certainly made minimal to zero impact consistently which was most surprising for me. I go as far as saying I think the other teams XG increased when he had the ball.
At Chelsea his work rate was always immense and probably kept him on the field longer than it should have, but he was an absolute counter attack fizzler. He would either not make the pass, not make the right pass, or turn it over. It seems as though his best trait of high work rate evaporated once he moved to Arsenal, hence making him effectively worthless.
I think this downward trajectory was expected by everyone, partly due to his age, and that's why everyone was laughing when Arsenal gave him a 3 year deal 3 days after he turned 32. Everyone has their thing though, I guess. Arsenal loves "seasoned" Brazilians
Article mentions that Chelsea is ready to include Tammy Abraham as part of the deal I’m sure they are lol
That my friend is the game changer in negotiations. If we get desperate we might throw in a Ross Barkley to seal the deal
I was scrolling through some training pics from the other day on instagram and it said one of the players was Barkley. I could have sworn we had offloaded him somewhere
We were already getting embarrassed, but when he scored against us it was just downright insulting. Reminded me of when dantonio ran a trick play against PSU up like 30 and an OL caught a td.
Yes. He was last seen getting aggressive with some youth in a U-23 match and then got shipped off on loan to Turkey.
"According to a growing number of people within the game and sources close to the most powerful decision-makers at City, a deal is ready to be completed. There is talk of a buyout clause and that City are fully prepared to trigger it. Villa have never discussed the details of Grealish’s contract. Those sources around City indicate that personal terms have already been agreed, too, which is common at this stage of the summer, and that is why there is confidence that things have moved on well, and why those stories cropped up during the Euros. However, sources close to the player are under the impression that he is ready to sign a new contract after all. Villa also appear confident this is the case, a year on from when he last signed an extension, and have been telling their new signings that they will be playing alongside Grealish, not replacing him, even if just for one more year."
So they have both agreed to personal terms with grealish but also think he is going to resign at villa that makes a lot of sense
He also might have a release clause but he might not too Never heard of this writer but it sounds like he just sat on a toilet and put whatever came out of his ass onto his keyboard and submitted it to his editors at the athletic and they agree to print it
I would guess that it's his agent feeding info to sweeten the deal from villa, or maybe it's just all made up.
pretty funny that the guy who was spamming the board with birmingham live tweets about ESR going to Villa is suddenly concerned with journalistic integrity.
Villa put in bids for ESR and everyone but Arsenal fans were shocked he would want to stay at a club surely to be in a relegation battle and likely headed towards a double relegation into league one city journalists just making shit up
If you don’t know who Sam is, that’s a you problem. He’s considered in the same tier as news coming from Ornstein
That’s how you properly sell good prospects who might be good enough in a few years. City learning from sancho unlike Chelsea with all their mistakes.
