I guess a few posters got on a typical slightly off-topic tangent the past couple of pages, but yes literally today a poster just shared he did. ^^
How does one know which variant they came down with? The delta variant has obviously been talked about more over the last month or two. I have had more friends contract the virus lately and I asked them if they got the delta variant and they said they don’t know. I’m not sure what variant I got last fall.
I can't imagine something happening to a loved one and ultimately they don't make it because unvaxxed shitheads are taking up all the icu beds
Stupid/random question relating to St. Jude hospital requiring staff to get vaccinated or lose their job. I guess it’s related to different colleges requiring students to get vaxxed. I see there is a religious exemption that allows them to skip it. What’s preventing people from just filling out a simple paper and not getting vaxxed? Do schools look into it at all?
idk how st jude falls into this comparison bc those are children' s hospitals full of kids who cannot get vax'd
Connecticut governor got rid of religious exemptions for schools effective for the 2022/2023 school year because too many people were using it basically.
I hear all the time from scientists about those unvaxxed people going into swarms of vaxxed people and coming out of the mob with myocarditis and autism i guess or whatever!
oh ok, I totally misread that then. I thought it was saying colleges have that exemption but ya, if st jude's has a religious exemption then that's fucked bc of what I said in the other post but I'm guessing it's probably to protect against lawsuits or something the lawyers put in there
For sure, but is it really that easy? What is the point of making vaccine requirements if people can easily just bypass them with the exemptions? It’s theater.
Id imagine they’d move the unvaccinated people into administrative roles so they aren’t in direct contact with patients.
It’s my understanding that the vaccine makes the virus a hell of a lot more tolerable if you do get infected. People need to get the vaccine so they don’t end up taking up an ICU bed and depriving someone else of that care. I think I’m on the tail end of the symptoms today. Still have the same headache from Saturday morning but everything else has subsided.
"New Science" Also what a disgusting piece of shit. Give the fucking lady a refund, she shouldn't have to go to Airbnb over that
electronic my understanding is that part of the reason it’s so important for everyone to get a vaccine is that not everyone will have the full reaction so herd immunity covers them, but I am by no means a virologist am in no way anti-vaxx FYI, big pfiz guy
I don't think that's an issue with any particular vaccine dose - just that a lot of things go into getting sick. Additionally, dude could've been in ICU without the vaccine, so it's impossible to say that the vaccine didn't work. It may be saving his life right now.
my grandma got it in between her first and second dose. she was in the hospital for about a week and is still dealing with bad anxiety over the whole ordeal she's probably be dead if my aunt hadnt forced her to get that first dose
CDC / media finally doing it right calling this the pandemic of the unvaccinated and continuing to post stats about hospitalization rates and deaths for non vax vs vax. They need to add based on% vaccinated so what the true effectiveness is more clearly but that is the only messaging
I know some Arkansas news outlets are stressing how 99% of all hospitalizations and deaths are among the unvaccinated, but the comment section is predominantly people saying “fake news” or “what does a doctor really even know, I do my own research” so they fucked.
Basically these people have become so assured of their worldview that anything that conflicts with it must be fake news, and that is 43% of the country controlling 50% of the senate seats
arkansas governor was on NPR yesterday apparently is going town to town to hold meetings where people from the community talk about how important getting vaccinated is. Says vaccinations are up 40% but if they were already incredibly low, not sure how much moves the needle.
that’s the real damage of Trump. He made it not only ok, but virtuous to hand waive any information that didn’t confirm your beliefs.
I guess when schools start back and cases start climbing to 10k a day maybe they’ll consider at least having kids wear masks again. Lol, I tried typing that with a straight face but we all know covid could have a 99% chance of killing children and people would still be bitching about them wearing a mask.
Asa is trying to do what he can now knowing the damage he’s already done. At least he’s trying where the same can’t be said for other Republican governors that have done the same thing
They were talking about conspiracy theorists and he was like....well theres a percentage of the population that you just cant reason with. Said there is another large percentage of the population that is just hesitant and thinks he can convince those people to get vaccinated. I commend him for trying but I think I heard only 35% of the population there is vaccinated.
Correct me if I’m wrong and misunderstanding you, but are you saying that the nurses who skirt the vaccine requirement rules by filling out religious exemption forms are going to be promoted into administrative roles? That seems like the last thing we need
Someone just won a million dollars from the vaccination lottery they had in the state. Maybe that can help as well. Needs to be like Ohio with direct cash payments at this point. https://www.nwahomepage.com/news/te...D9ltiVMnlQZY6SjxAs90FTgTIPSegCBzKkkkmzWRL1Oqk
It's going to get ugly in Florida and Desantis won't do a thing, and if mayors try to do anything Desantis will come down on them.
