I am going to go under just for the fact that NHC is normally pretty conservative unless they have a massive data backed reason. It will look like this in my head at 2pm is 80mph, 5pm is 90-95, 8 is 105-110, and 11 will push north of 120.
When the eye hits around New Orleans my area (South MS) gets fucked. I mean I hate anyone gets it, but I hope it keeps pushing West. As of now South MS just looking like tropical storm. Could change for sure though.
Im not sure how stable P3s are but C130s are called Herky-birds for a reason; they jerk you around at the best of times.
I feel exhausted from waiting for this thing to arrive. At the same time, I feel grateful that air evacuation plans have not been activated for Orleans and Jefferson parish (I'm the incident director for MSY's CTN).
The Port of Morgan City will be gone by Tuesday morning. Which has caused me to have some weird thoughts about everything. We were supposed to have a two day conference down there Thursday and Friday (Covid restrictions canceled it. Thank goodness).
Yeah. Experts say their still confident in the path and MS Goast hasn’t been upgraded to hurricane warning yet. Still at tropical. 7:00 PM central update should tell us a lot
Mississippi is ravaged with covid, has a dogshit Governor and looks like it’s about to get blasted prayers up man
No change in wind speed at the 7pm central update. Pressure is still dropping though. So expect an increase in the next update. There are going to be at least 1 recon flight in the storm until landfall. So we will have real time data coming in. Also the northwest/north eye wall is starting to appear on radar.
Yup looks like the system has found the Gulf's stash of the high octane rocket fuel. It is going to be a long night
Weather Channel is live for the foreseeable future. I would think Accuweather and Weathernation would be live as well. I can not speak to any of the news station in New Orleans in terms of quality of coverage. Here are the links to the stations live feed at the moment. Fox - https://www.fox8live.com/livestream/ NBC - https://www.wdsu.com/nowcast CBS - https://www.wwltv.com/watch?vid=55f478f0-ee91-4ae0-93bc-cf71382c125d ABC - https://wgno.com/on-air/live-streaming/
NHC is going to maintain the 105 mph at the moment with this update. Expect that to increase by as much as 15-20 mph after this latest run of recon flights get into the storms.
Watch these. Curious to see how Lafitte does. Barataria Bay is going to be flying back into the marsh
