So I’m renting in O4W. Signed a 10 month lease in January. Rent was $1,470. Just got my renewal notice and it’s jumping up to $1,911. That’s criminal.
I swear landlords and people manipulating housing prices are really skyrocketing up my guillotine power rankings
You can appeal your tax assessment and it’ll freeze your rate for like 3 years, but after that you run the risk of it jumping way the fuck up
That’s a big part of it. PMI is also something that will never make sense to me. Just horseshit all around
I’m going there twice this month, with another show at variety. Let me know where the good angles are at eastern. I’m good anywhere but I’ll have a 5 foot tall person with me.
Ration & Dram changing their concept up to seemingly a rotating pop up menu. New chefs will come in and do their own thing. Brunch staying put though.
The brunch is unbeatable. But never think of there weeknights so makes sense. Also the traffic at the Van Gogh has been brutal at times trying to get from Lake Claire over to Kirkwood. Basically have to take Rockyford only now. Only going to get worse with the rest of pullman development.
You’ll be awfully close to Edgewood and Inman Park where you can’t really go wrong but I do suggest you go downstairs to Trader Vics at least once because it’s goofy as hell.
Is that the place where dragoncon nerds go to stay? Asking for a friend who's unfamiliar with the hotel district
Ample unobstructed balcony seating. Practically entire place was made for it. Like a lot of newer industrial vibe venues no seating all standing and all terraced rail/balconies. Just a long line bc of covid proof and they check for 21 IDs too
Salaries slightly but the incoming demographics vs limited supply gives rising prices significant support long term.
Nah but I lost everyone in my family to covid that was vulnerable so Im in a fuck around and find out mode. Vax'd and will do the booster too. They werent enforcing masks or anything.
You can hear basically the entire show from the Eastern's rooftop. Its sweet. And plenty of people congregating at Imaginarium and Wonderkid too listening.
You can tell them you want to stay but can’t afford the increase and would have to leave. I’ve done that the last two years and both times they’ve held my rent at the same rate. Maybe it’s different in that part of the city, but they barely gave me any push back when I talked with them. I figure it was some bs they try and pull to see how many people they can get to just agree so they can get easy money. Also positive cash flow is better than no cash flow for a unit.
They sent back a thesis on why they can’t lower rates. I’m fortunate to be offered a lower rate because if they rented it to someone else right now they’d get $2,100. So I told them I’m leaving. I’ve noticed buildings around me have already come down $100+ in the past week. Just absolute greed on their part
It's not really inflation, it's because we can in this market with the supply vs demand in one of the best neighborhoods for renters in the country. Sorry, we have a fiduciary responsibility to maximize value and the market allows it.
