Dave Chang bringing his Ghost Kitchen Chicken pop up to Poncey Highlands starting August 18 no clue how long it will last but guess is it will be a success
Playing golf near Brookhaven on Tuesday. Any recs on a good BBQ place or something to get lunch after? This would be around 2:30pm and heading back to Bham after.
Hop on 285 and go to Heirloom Market. I don’t know much about Brookhaven, so there may be something closer. I just think the city kinda sucks.
Guys I'm with may not go for that, but holy shit I just looked at the menu and pictures and it's amazing.
If you want sit down, a new Fox Brothers just opened in west midtown that’s gigantic. It would put you pretty close to I-20 as well.
The battery is pretty near heirloom. There's a fox brother's there which is my favorite bbq anywhere and has become pretty famous. Parking really easy there and a bunch of beers if your want one.
Dunno how true, but my uncle said you can get on ANGC ten times before getting a look at Peachtree. And he’s played them both plenty.
I've heard that but I also know a handful of guys who've played Peachtree and no one who has gotten on at Augusta. Obviously very anecdotal so who knows. Everyone said PTree was in flawless condition with every inch manicured like a major was coming up. Jealousy level was pretty high
the market is cooling off, bidding wars are not as common, not as big of a shit show and don't expect to pay absurdly over asking going forward. Good run hope the sellers cashed out
Speaking of bbq on that side of town.. Anyone ever go to fat Matt's? Used to love that place as a kid.
I would eat at peachtree before anywhere else but I guess Avellino's or Hopstix wouldn't be terrible. What is that old bbq place literally across the street from peachtree? There is also a pig n chik right there too
The bbq spot next to Wing Ranch closed like 10 years ago. I just realized you may be talking about the place on PIB too. That’s still open.
I believe I spot a Spotted Trotter. In the Reynoldstown Neighbors Facebook group they said that it's for a Comcast commercial.
Like the outside bar seating they've got. Have tried a handful of the places there, the vegan stir fry place feels a bit pricey but it's good.
Yeah that red barn looking bbq place wasn’t that good. Pig n Chik is ok and does the trick if you want bbq and don’t want to drive. At least that was the case 7 years ago. That reminds me I pretty much moved back to CA from ATL 7 years ago about this time. Doesn’t seem like that long ago but loved living in ATL.
It's in my neighborhood and we never go. It's super cramped inside and the BBQ is mediocre which is too bad
Full disclosure I have a smoker and love making ribs so my standards are abnormally high on the bbq front. Their ribs aren't bad in the grand scheme I'm sure
Not saying this to dissuade anybody from liking Fat Matts but I was always under impression they steamed/boiled their Ribs to make them fall off the bone
I thought they baked them and then finished on the grill but regardless, they're pretty mediocre imo. In that area I'd rather go to DBA
Yea they do something like that. That's why they are almost a different category than the normal smoked ones you get at most places imo.
dba best meat in Atlanta imo. I have a new contender for best bar food. Lemon Pepper Hot tossed chicken fingers at Brewhouse.
I switched agencies last month and I'm waiting indefinitely for the new office to open since it's close to Das. Lunch is gonna make me
Not quite true. From what I hear Peachtree has about 200-250 members and 75 of them are members at ANGC. You can play Peachtree unaccompanied if you know someone, no chance at ANGC.
I know a bunch of y'all have posted about A Mano. Been wanting Italian food and they do reservations for the patio. May check it out this weekend. I'm out on indoor dining again I think.
we impromtu stopped by there yesterday. It is awesome. Amazing how much that space has grown and evolved.
Fox brothers might not have the best pure bbq in town, but no one comes close to what they do with it.
