That’s not totally fair, they have approximately 1.5 relevant fantasy players, you gotta lead with the important stuff
"Our fantasy draft guide isn't getting traffic because it's so good that people are keeping it from their friends"
or because the boss just forced his way onto an episode to say that Mac Jones is a better fantasy QB than Fields or Lance and the co hosts had to dick tuck the whole time
Daniel Jones was the most talked about player on an episode called "The Fantasy Football Mega-Preview." Damien Harris was probably #2 I didn't expect much but that fucking sucked
Someone on reddit dug up a clip from after Daniel Jones's first start where Bill gushes over him and pulls the whole "I think you can tell when a QB is good just from seeing his first game, this guy clearly has something!" I had my draft yesterday so I decided to listen to another one of the Ringer fantasy football pods with Peter Schreger giving his sleepers, he bought into the spin from the Chiefs people last year so much he drafted Clyde Edwards Helaire first overall last year, what a fucking mark.
Doesn’t Warren Sharp do the Vegas Dave bullshit of selling his gambling picks to subscribers? What the fuck is he gonna talk about 3x a week if he isn’t giving out his “premium” info other than his usual “pass on every down!” drivel
Mac is polished. It’s really a question of what’s his ceiling. In that division, he’s gonna have a difficult time touching Josh Allen. I don’t wanna say I’d like to see Mac Jones fail bc of Bill Simmons. But I’d like to see the Patriots go .500 bc of Bill Simmons.
Funny how Bill was all about needing running QB’s to win the Super Bowl, the last couple of years, until the Pats drafted Mac Jones.
It’s just Bill doing his thing where being ignorant or ill informed on a subject is somehow supposed to be treated as endearing or funny
yeah, i think both of this is fair. it sounded dumb on first listen, it was dumb as it became twitter-worthy. it's especially dumb given the big picture ep this week + whatever the site and mcu podcasts' content are for the movie. but all of that is, to me, pretty far from, "asian people at the ringer must be miserable because of bill simmons' racism".
man, fuck you both. i've had a lot of people criticize me or my posts on here after ~10 years but being called racist is bullshit.
I’m not sure why Bill thinks the most interesting thing about himself is that he likes Miami Vice but he sure is committed to the bit.
This may be the most appropriately titled thread on TMB. I think of the fake Russillo quotes someone posted a few pages back now every time Ryen is on one of his rants
Could not delete the Miami vice rewatchae quick enough. Couldn’t give less of a piss about a tv show episode from 35 years ago
i don’t think anyone was calling you racist. But it was remarkably tone deaf to use that thread icon. It’s also indicative of American society that sees Asian culture as inherently funny and mockable.
Handcuffed no one was calling you a racist they were just commenting once more on what a total fucking idiot you are all the time hth
Brad Edwards was OK. I love redzone but Scott Hansen is kind of a boring guy I've never listened to a life advice segment
I wish Bill would bring back the gimmick where he went head to head with his dog in NFL picks (the dog won fwiw)
Weird their doing it but I’ll listen. Life advice is usually entertaining. Sometimes it’s the only thing I listen to of his pods.
If it isn’t Dame or Beal who really cares? Maybe, maybe if Philly fines him, it’ll be more interesting.
Hopefully Simmons gets traded to the bulls so they can give us weekly updates of Ben’s shooting % on their weird new Chicago pod.
i can see not many people made it to the end of the pod because bill simmons told van latham that rappers should sneak-diss moments in pop culture and sports culture, e.g. ben simmons is afraid to shoot or lebron was bad in the 2011 finals. maybe vince staples would do it, he thought. jesus christ. it was easily the cringiest (hate that word) thing i've ever heard on the pod.
