You can check this on your phone By going to settings then clicking on your account thing at the top then pick iCloud. But yes your phone backs itself up regularly to iCloud if you have it enabled. It’s very convenient.

 

Anyone had issues with any notifications since downloading iOS 15? I seem to have lost Gmail and Okta ones.

 

Don’t use those apps. Only problem I have is sometimes my widgets go completely black and I can’t click on them

 

I use all chrome to maintain my passwords and bookmarks.

 

UPS confirming my phone will be delivered Friday.

 

Anyone know the trade in value for an XS with Verizon? I tried looking in the app and couldn’t find anything. The screen is cracked but it appears it doesn’t matter as long as the battery is good.

probably the wrong thread to ask, but the only thing tying me to apple is family imessage group chats...any solid work arounds if you have a pixel or otherwise to still be in those threads without fucking everything up?

not that I am aware of. our fantasy league has a group chat and one guy is on android so the formatting on some of the stuff is just weird, but we seem to manage.

I have done a little reading but this seems like a decent phone to go ahead and upgrade to. Is there reason to believe the 14 series will be another leap?

They have typically been on an every 2 years “major” change. So yes the 14 should be a greater leap then the 12 to 13 changes.

 

this is like a 13S upgrade if you compare to past years.

 

usually cracked screen f’s you. Makes value minimal. With todays trade in value. Could be beneficial to pay for new screen. Then trade in.

 

I feel like I don’t use any of the cool add ons or features when a new iOS comes out. Hell, going from a 6S to 12 was more for battery and camera for me. I don’t think I truly utilize everything a new firmware offers. I need an idiots guide with tips and tricks.

 

Yeah I thought so too but when I was reading about trade ins it appeared that batteries were what they cared about. I can go get it estimated I suppose.

 

Only thing you’d miss are iMessage specific things like reply feature or reactions on a text (like a heart or thumbs up on the text).

you could also ask everyone to just use a 3rd party app like whats app, discord, etc but I’d imagine they don’t wanna do that

Not true. iMessage handles multimedia (pics/gifs/vids/etc) waay better than SMS, not to mention it is encrypted end to end.

Think we had someone itt make the jump from a like a 6 to the 12 recently.

When it was time for upgrades, I opted for AirPod Pros instead of a new phone but mine has started randomly losing the SIM card and overheating…so it’s time.

I went from the 6S to the 12 last year. Then I wondered why I chose to fight through an awful battery and laggy firmware for years on a device that I need and use for hours every day. Plus I do a lot of traveling and the camera was lightyears better.

 

Well, I feel like an asshole for getting my 12 in July but I mean whatever, it’s cool

Had to contact Apple support to get my tracking #. Website order status says phone is still preparing to ship. They told me it shipped early this week and got me the tracking #.

 

Sign up for UPS My Choice. I was able to see mine shipped a couple days before Apple provided the tracking number.

Att has 12 pro for $15 a month no trade in. MYbe Verizon has similar deals to dump inventory
