I do! I do! "Reserved" is a pretty heavy word that implies there's a referral process in Florida. There isn't. Just I guess honor system you qualify for any of these. My wife has more of a mild asthma but that's it. And is vaccinated. So I'm not sure if the treatment will really help? Information on these Heath department websites isn't so clear
It‘s up to her I guess. It’s just money (maybe someone else’s) and her time (and its an infusion so hopefully she won’t mind a needle in her vein). There isn’t much evidence that it’s hopeful for healthy folks but that’s because it would take a massive trial to show an effect
Due for a 6-month booster right as my vacation comes up. Basically plan on being lazy the whole time, so lines up well to get my booster then!
Booster knocked me on my ass on Saturday. It was worse than the second shot, which had me feeling like crap, but no fever. This time I had the fever, chills, and headache. Mostly cleared up on Sunday except for swollen lymph nodes which took a few days to calm down last time too.
boostie is kicking my ass had to grab like 3 blankets for the chills and my body hurts. happy i didn’t work out coulda been so much worse
Sounds like everyone should plan for a crappy day the day after getting a booster just like the second shot.
I had chills and a low fever after my second Moderna shot which is why it's better. We were told the Moderna booster would be half the dose but I fully expect it to knock me on my ass again.
Moderna shot 2 fucked me up for a full day. Fever, chills, headache, achy, couldn’t sleep. Would do it all over again.
Pfizer 1 - slept for 36 hours basically, Pfizer 2 - nothing at all, Pfizer 3 - can’t wait to find out.
Our family just went through something similar. Got it from daycare. Florida's reached a point where we just have to assume we're all getting it soon and hope there's no long term implications.
Just got my flu shot. For those of you who go to Publix for shots, they are not doing the gift cards for flu shots this year. So no free pub sub after flu shot the guy said they are being told to be careful on boosters as they only have moderna and it is still not clear what dosage to give
im definitely not knowledgeable about it, I am just going off things like this https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2021/09/07/1033756464/flu-shot-covid-booster
Results were adjusted for factors such as age, race, season, past year hospitalizations, and indicators of underlying health conditions. Vaccine efficacy against influenza-associated hospitalizations declined by an average of 7.5%–8.5% for each 30 days postvaccination, depending on influenza type These findings were more pronounced among older adults, with those 65 and older experiencing an average decline of 10.8% in vaccine efficacy for each 30 days after inoculation. Results suggest that delaying vaccination timing by even 1 or 2 months might improve vaccine effectiveness by 10% to 20%, Ferdinands says, and this approach deserves consideration "if [it] doesn't encroach on the annual influenza season, delay vaccine delivery, or reduce vaccine uptake.
initially went to my neighborhood publix for the boostie and this was my experience as well. walgreens was flush.
well when I die from the flu in March because I didn’t wait I’ll have you to thank for not telling me sooner!
got my flu shot this morning at school. battling a little mental fog so my posting may be a little off today
Flu shot also never gives me a much of a reaction other than maybe a slight arm soreness, literally no reason to not get one if we're going to be hanging out much more in person this holiday season. I got mine at Publix then took my four year old the day after for hers instead of trying to schedule something with her pediatrician.
I didn't realize people had adverse reactions to flu shots until the covid vaccine and it was brought up
Yeah I had heard people who thought the shot made them sick but I thought they were having a placebo effect
maybe. Not a doctor, but vaccine side effects are similar to flu symptoms. Fever, chills, aches etc so probably where it comes from
Winn Dixie's giving out gift cards for flu shots fwiw, planning to get that later this week CDC website https://www.cdc.gov/flu/season/faq-flu-season-2021-2022.htm September and October are generally good times to be vaccinated. Ideally, everyone should be vaccinated by the end of October. Adults, especially those older than 65, should not get vaccinated early (in July or August) because protection in this group may decrease over time. Children can get vaccinated as soon as vaccine becomes available—even if this is in July or August. Some children need two doses. For those children it is recommended to get the first dose as soon as vaccine is available, because the second needs to be given at least 4 weeks after the first. Early vaccination can also be considered for people who are in the third trimester of pregnancy, because this can help protect their infants during the first months of life (when they are too young to be vaccinated).
Got my flu shot a little over a week ago at Walgreens, easier to get it there or Publix than at the primary doctor
when you sign up for a booster at cvs the portal automatically gives you a checkbox to go ahead and get your flu shot. it’s pretty easy
I get it every year in October my guy. Got mine at CVS since I was in the store and it was convenient
