I'm not going to go digging through posts - you are currently arguing that a guy that was in the MVP conversation prior to injury was inefficient. And maybe you did briefly change your tune after those playoff games, but you've been shitting on him for a long time. Meanwhile, he has: never had <4 ypc in a season lead the league in rushing two straight years (would have been three) had a 2,000 yard season (would have had back-to-back this year if not for the injury) He is historically good.
Cannot find that he was "inefficient" but do see that he "regressed" from last year, which... come on.
The guy who finished in the top 10 in rushing after only playing in 8 games was inefficient? The guy is bound for Canton barring his career falling off a cliff.
Chase was very impressive. He was so quick On that screen that he had the big play on it didn’t look like Fulton got a hand on him. Burrow didn’t look special but I give him credit for not making the dumb play even though he was running for his life all night. Too bad Tannehill couldn’t do the same
Biggest thing that Burrow did was not have a melt down after getting hit that many times. That's pretty fucking impressive. That, and the third down scramble that basically turned the momentum.
Will believe this is even a remote possibility when someone besides Florio or Jared Stillman report it.
Everyone going crazy cause he's building a house in Franklin. Along with all the other rich chuds. What team is gonna take on Tannehill's contract? Rodgers doesn't strike me as a "take a pay cut to play" guy either.
I think you have to kick the tires when you are talking about a HOF QB that might have interest (and I’m not saying he does). I guess I can see some parallels to the Rams knowing that Goff wasn’t the guy and making a bold move but we don’t have the cap space or enough draft picks to pull it off anyways. Plus I would bet he wants to stay in the NFC. We are stuck with Tannehill short term and it sucks
When you have the opportunity to overpay an underperforming, lackluster, and perceived burner, you just have to pull the trigger.
We had a couple of glaring holes going into this season/FA and it feels like they have only gotten worse at all of them. We are, at best, a fringe playoff team right now and we've got AJ Brown and Derrick Henry in their prime. It feels like they are playing for "the future" and they don't realize these years might be our best chance in the next 10-15 unless we get lucky.
Let our number 2 RB walk, need at least 1, if not 2 starting olineman, our number 2 WR is now Westbrook, need CB depth at the minimum. And we sign a special teams guy, a KR and now Hooper.
Would be very interested in signing Landry to a 2ish year deal. Honestly, it looks like we are going to have to hit a home run in the draft to have a punchers chance winning anything in the playoffs.
Titans waited twenty years to draft an elite wr and when they found him they couldn't get him onto a second deal
Nah that’s shits dumb as fuck. It’d be different if they traded him and picked a different position but now the kid they picked has to live up to Brown and his potential and that pressure. Stupid shit
I think it came down to our offense not being worth locking up a ton of money in a WR not named Davante Adams. We freed up cap space and got a solid WR in Woods and a good prospect in Burks. I wish we could’ve kept Brown but giving him $100M vs this? I think it’ll work out fine.
The dumbass Jags screwed the entire league when they reset the WR market with giving Christian Kirk stupid money
I thought it sucked but then they picked Burks. He’s just gonna be saddled with mental pressures that he shouldn’t have to deal with. Trade him for more picks the line or something. It just feels like a weird way to handle it
Eh I mean I don’t think AJ was around long enough to be some benchmark that every Titan WR will be held to. I mean I’ve never been drafted so I don’t know what I’m talking about but I don’t think he’s going to have some AJ Brown shadow over him
I’m sure there’s some pressure I just don’t agree it’s going to be some major issue. At least I hope not
The real point here is we were close to putting together a contender. We're in win now mode and now that is over. We're going to run Henry into the ground next year and have to watch Tannehill toss the ball to a horrendous WR group and just hope the rookie WR can replace a pro bowl player. We're not going to get over the hump. I had hope we were getting close to it but I just can't see it with Robinsons track record these last few years drafting and free agent signings
