I will say this, I would save quite a bit of side content until after you complete a certain late game mission. You unlock something that is a game changer and you'll want some stuff to do once you have it.
I used lots of spike bombs and hunter arrows. Target lock the underbelly before the fight and really focus on that.
Does anyone use that shredder? tool? The disc you throw. I started using it when I first got it, but haven't touched it since. There's so many more weapons in this game, I usually stick to the same ones.
Tried it. Didn’t see it as a useful tool. So I set it aside. Didn’t use tripwires or rope casters as much either. Loved the electrical vertical trap
I used the rope caster a ton in 1, took it off on this one. I like you can use alt fire for trip wire to auto set them. I mostly use a hunter bow, spike thrower, sharpshooter bow (just the tear arrows), and explosive blast sling.
Seriously fuck this slitherfang in the arena, I can’t even get close to beating it. Shit armor and weapons for me I guess
I didn’t scan the corruptor during the “Thebes” mission, so the only other place to find and scan them is in the arena… they show up on the second legendary task.
I believe they actually fixed this and if you go back to where that mission starts there is a dead corruptor that you can scan.
It was like outside on the ground in the video I saw. It's the beginning of the mission where you find Beta. I don't remember what that mission is called.
Both, although I prioritized getting a legendary armor first. Which one depends on your play style. I went for the Nora one cuz I mostly use bows
Yeah, but they're probably not gonna be the ones you want. Spoiler: Armor You get a legendary armor for doing all the salvage missions, but it's geared towards melee combat Spoiler: Weapons You get a hunter bow for clearing all the rebel camps, but it uses elemental arrows so it's more useful for setting up elemental limits than doing actual damage. You also get a warrior bow for winning all the races, and a shredder gauntlet for collecting all the ornaments from ancient ruins.
What's everyone's favorite / least favorite machine(s) to fight? My least favorite are definitely Shellsnappers, Clawstriders, and Clamberjaws. I just can't avoid taking damage from Shellsnappers, I hate how the frost things they shoot block my path when I'm trying to dodge, and I hate how they go into burrow and spam frost attack mode at low health. Clawstriders and Clamberjaws are equally annoying for me cuz they just move around too much and actually do a really good job of tanking damage. On the other hand, I really enjoy the fights against all the other huge machines. Stormbirds are way less annoying than they were in HZD, which I appreciate
Reset to the main menu (or close game and restart) and then pass time at a camp until night (they only appear at night). Usually worked for me.
Finished the main story, such a wonderful game. Probably the second most beautiful game after ghost of Tsushima. Loved the diversity of enemies and the story was absolutely top notch again. negatives were that I really don’t love the weapon system. Because it takes so much to upgrade armor and weapons, it often doesn’t make sense to change armors unless it’s such a huge upgrade you cannot afford to keep your old weapon/armor Spoiler thought the nemesis twist was cool and the tilda turn at the end. I’m really interested to see how they handle nemesis in 3. I’m expecting a trip into space at some point. Also, how they going to do my man Varl like that
its not just that you have to hunt certain dinosaurs to get the upgrade but then you have to kill then in certain ways or you don’t get the part. It just made it not worth it. I had a few legendary weapons I didn’t even use
Even then some parts are not guaranteed to drop. I killed so many fucking Thunderjaw to get the nerve that's like a 30% drop.
I fucking hate it this time around. Upgrades happened organically in Zero Dawn. Now everything shares resources and the drops are not great.
I set a rule for myself where if it doesn’t drop after the second time, I change the difficulty to story for the third try then change it back after I get the part. None of the achievements are tied to difficulty, and the only thing higher difficulty is doing at that point is making this process take longer, so I have zero guilt over it.
