I expect his FSB chairs for Sweden and Finland to end up in jail now, I’m sure they assured him there was never a path to those two joining NATO. Which was probably true until this bullshit
Honest question for those who felt NATO expansion had some responsibility for the current situation; how should this be handled?
There is like 2 million refugees in Poland. They are fucking pissed and armed to the teeth with an extremely nationalistic government- what could you expect
Between Putin and American twitter discourse I guess I have no idea what the term Nazi means anymore. It seems to mean “person who I dislike and want others to dislike.”
Since I made a promise to my Finnish friends that if the Russians ever invaded I would take up arms alongside them (of course, before marriage & kids), I would vote "hell yes" to accept them.
Spoiler Seeing more and more stories on serious food insecurity issues coming for much of the world, particularly the global south. Disrupted grain production in Ukraine, major grain transport port (Odessa) blockaded, and fertilizer trading at 3 or 4 times what it usually costs. Oh, and Biden's foolish E15 decision is going to make this situation worse. Besides the horror of people starving to death, hungry people are angry people, and you're going to see governments fall over this, guaranteed.
not sure how close to basically any modern weapon fielded by the Russians I'd want to get in one of those aluminium APCs but still.
Love how we can snap our fingers and come up with nearly 1 billion for war stuff but can't fix our roads here in the states
Overall, state and local governments provided three-quarters of highway and road funding ($155 billion) in 2019. Federal transfers for highways and roads were $48 billion dollars in 2019, or 24 percent of all spending
We'll see on this claim. It would be insanely stupid for the Russians to put this in range of anti-shipping missiles. (Ukrainian missile range is around 100 km. British Harpoon, which is supposedly part of the UK's new arms package, is around 200 km).
so, you want a bullet-pointed list of all the other stupid shit Russia has done this war? Totally plausible.
Fascism is hard define because regimes that called themselves fascist had some pretty significant differences. But in general, it’s a right wing nationalist ideology focused on protecting the nation for the “real” citizens - however the ruling party decides to define that - and from which “outsiders” need to be excluded.
