Any chance we see some bigger companies make moves against states that enact these trigger laws if not just for political reasons but legitimate concerns for their employees? Small example but like when Texas enacted their law and that director pulled out of filming there: David Simon, who created the Emmy-nominated US crime series The Wire, has said he will not film his forthcoming show in Texas, due to a new law there restricting access to abortions. "As an employer, this is beyond politics," Simon posted on Twitter. "I can't and won't ask female cast/crew to forgo civil liberties to film there.
I wasn't posting his opinion though, just him quoting Thomas which is pertinent to the thread and what is next.
Gave the benefit of the doubt first time around and just called the post shit. Now it’s clear you are shit.
Yes, in almost all circumstances you can. Plus, yesterday's decision has nothing to do with search and seizure.
You’re a tremendous piece of shit that enjoys seeing fascism crush people that aren’t like him. Fuck you now. Fuck you tomorrow. Fuck you forever. I hope someone you care about very deeply dies from an ectopic pregnancy that they weren’t allowed to abort.
plenty of other folks on twitter quoting the same thing. this is the same exact thing as when you'd quote bill kristol or rick wilson or whatever never trumper republican in the trump thread.
This shit really sucks because it will bring on needless suffering and death to the most vulnerable women/girls of this country and 40% cheer it on. Fuck this place and fuck you if you support it.
Obviously not the biggest news of the day but they’re gonna gut Chevron too. Excited for Brett Kavanaugh to be the de facto head of the EPA in a few days.
Says the guy who wishes Dems could still abort their children. I hope your SO and dependents get knocked up by junkies.
Yeah, I missed that one. Looks like it's pretty specific in what it applies to, so you can still sue 1983, but just not immigration agents? Idk. Deleted my response to him because I missed what he was referring to.
neither is owning a firearm other than to maintain a well regulated militia but alas, the Supreme Court invented that right and has struck down many attempts to limit gun use
Just ended a constitutional right to an abortion, and made clear that same sex relationships are next, paving the way to make it illegal for interracial marriage and equal rights down the line. “That’s it? Color me unimpressed”
Yea, this was the case. Said she got all her tears out when the draft leaked and was already resigned to the fact that Roe would be overturned. But when she asked me “what are we going to do now?” I said I don’t know. I have no faith in this system and I feel completely demoralized. All the door knocking, call banks, donations (albeit meager ones) feel like the meant nothing right now.
oh hey look what I found! https://www.militarynewbie.com/wp-c...ions-Handbook-1969-Department-of-the-Army.pdf
You mean the Chevron decision is worse than Dobbs? Or that the upcoming WV decision will be worse for the country?
Texas cared for 45,870 children in 2021. Children in foster care are 42% more likely to die than children in the general population, according to a study by The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and University of Pennsylvania referenced in the DFPS report.
It's amazing to me there isn't a louder voice somewhere in a younger progressive space that starts to question the constitution itself. White slaveowners wrote a document in the 1770s and all we still get is arguments about what's constitutional and not enough of "fuck the constitution, let's bring in a diverse and inclusive group to write a new one". I know ratification of that would be damn near impossible but im still surprised there isn't a faction calling for it.
I didn’t even give an opinion other than you are all emotional train wrecks. I’m truly embarrassed for you. You’re going to be ok, though. I promise you, Mr. Bar None
